Christine Brown Says Her Ex, Kody Doesn't Know Their Children
In a recent episode of "Sister Wives," Christine revealed her sadness concerning the poor relationship between her ex-husband Kody and their six children together. In the solo interview, the reality star said per Insider, "The hardest part of my whole life is that my kids don't have a great relationship with their dad — he doesn't even know them."
The Sunday episode saw Christine's 19-year-old daughter, Ysabel Brown, leave for her North Carolina college. Kody packed up a car for her, Christine, and their 12-year-old, Truely, to go on a road trip to the school. The father of 18, however, neglected to join them.
Ysabel, who did not have the best relationship with her father in the previous seasons, seemed to have already come to terms with his decision. She said, "My dad isn't coming with us. He has children here in Flagstaff, so it's not like he can be away for that long. Also, there's still COVID around, unfortunately."
'Kody Has This Awesome Side To Him That My Kids Don't Know'
In his confessional, Kody revealed that he had no intention of traveling with Christine beside him. The reality star claimed that he accepted her decision to divorce him; however, "I'm not gonna take a trip with her."
Kody said that fathering 18 children had him "spread thin," and he was doing his best to build a connection with them. "I work hard to visit with my children, to connect with them, to do something that they like. It's not always an easy connection," he said.
Christine, in her confessional, revealed that she thought Kody was "amazing," and the fact that her children did not know that saddens her. "You know what's sad, too, is they don't know how amazing he is either," she added. "Kody has this awesome side to him that my kids don't know."
The reality star went on to say that while Kody wasn't that man anymore, the awesome side of him was what made her fall in love.

Ysabel and Kody's relationship for the past seasons has been seemingly strained. Fans noticed the tension between the father and daughter in 2020 when season 16 of "Sister Wives" aired. At the time, Ysabel had to undergo surgery to correct her scoliosis, and Kody neglected to follow her.
The surgery took place on the east coast, and the father of 18 cited the COVID-19 pandemic and the health and safety concerns that came with it. In August, Christine revealed that her ex-husband's decision not to accompany Ysabel made her realize that she needed to leave him.
Kody's concerns about contracting COVID-19 also affected his decision to see his children in person. Earlier, the reality star revealed that he wouldn't visit Ysabel, who had previously announced that she wanted to attend college physically. At the time, he claimed concern about "breathing the same air" as the children on campus.
Kody Brown Got Criticized For Officiating A Wedding
Christine discovered that Kody had decided to leave the family to help a friend officiate his wedding. The mother of six revealed that his decision left her daughters Gwendlyn "mad" and Ysabel "heartbroken."
Christine disclosed that the 19-year-old asked how her father could agree to officiate a wedding but neglected to accompany her during her earlier surgery and recovery. Kody claimed that while Ysabel's situation would have had him away from fine for weeks, the wedding only took four days away.
Christine, however, felt much differently from Kody concerning the situation. The reality star said, via People, "What the hell? You think you get to go officiate your friend's wedding and not take care of your own family?"
"I don't have to deal with him anymore because I'm not married to him," she continued, "So glad I'm not because I cannot respect this person anymore. Who he is and the choices he's making, I cannot respect this man."
