In 2016, Shemar Moore announced his departure from ‘Criminal Minds.'
The actor played Derek Morgan from 2005 to 2016 and for his role, he was nominated for a People’s Choice Award.
Before ‘Criminal Minds,’ Moore played Malcolm Winters on ‘The Young & The Restless’ from 1994 to 2005. For his role, he won the 2000 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
After leaving ‘Criminal Minds,’ Moore went on to play the lead role in ‘S.W.A.T.’ which first aired in 2017. The show’s third season aired in October 2019.

Moore has been a familiar face on television for decades and is considered quite a heartthrob. We understand why fans are curious about his relationship status.
Well, turns out, Moore is reportedly single and has been since last year. But he’s had a couple of long-term girlfriends.
In 2014, Moore was linked to soccer player Shawna Gordon but the couple broke up a year later.
In 2017, the actor started dating ‘Quantico’ star Anabelle Acosta. She was even his date to the 2018 Grammys.

And reportedly, the two barely knew each other before attending the Grammys. They only connected after Moore sent the actress an email.
‘I wrote an email. I did that impromptu, chivalry stuff. I took a chance, I took a leap,’ Moore explained. ‘Mama is fussing at me! But Miss Anabelle Acosta, she's beautiful, look at her.’
Moore went on to describe the poetic email he sent Acosta that won her over.
‘I wrote [the email] just knowing there's no way she's going to hit me back... But I went back to my creative writing classes...Poetry in these fingertips! I wrote a little something something, and I just waited... A few days went by, and then bam,’ he added.

And to his email, Acosta responded, ‘Mr. Shemar Moore, I hear you've been looking for me. Watch yourself!'
While at the Grammys the two were able to get to know one another and have fun.
‘I thought this would be fun. I presented at the Latin AMAs last year. I told him it was stressful, so I didn't get to enjoy the show. So he gets to present [at the GRAMMYs tonight], get the stress this time, and I get to watch the show,' Acosta said.

Sadly, Moore and Acosta went their separate ways in 2019.
And while Moore is currently single, he’s opened up about wanting to find the right woman and be a ‘family man.’
‘I want to be a father, I want to have a partner in crime, a woman to share [my life] with. I want to continue to evolve, I want to continue to take the next step in my life,’ the 49-year-old toldWatch! Magazine.
The actor wants a relationship with ‘a lot of trust and she has to trust me and I have to make sure she knows that I got her back.’
