While Adele loves her career as a singer, she isn't really a fan of Broadway. However, there's one particular role that could change her mind about giving the stage a chance. The 34-year-old music icon spoke about this in a recent interview.

Adele revealed that she wasn't a "massive" fan but would give it a chance if she got to perform a role in one of her best musicals. The 15-time Grammy Awardee and Emmy winner is also one Tony Award away from completing her EGOT title.

While her disinterest in Broadway is an obstacle, her packed schedule could also be a problem. Adele is set to premiere her "Weekends with Adele" show on November 18th. The star canceled the project in January after deciding it wasn't up to her standards. She also felt "horrible" about the decision and apologized for it.

As Broadway World reported, the "Hello" star was answering some questions at a fan event when she revealed her thoughts on acting on the big stage. In response to whether she would give it a chance, Adele said, "I can't lie guys, I'm not a massive Broadway fan."

She then noted that she had seen a couple of Broadway musicals. "I'm talking about musicals though because I've been seeing a couple of plays." However, she wasn't sure if she had seen enough to judge Broadway by. She said, "I don't think I've seen enough."

While she isn't much of a fan, she revealed a Broadway show she wouldn't mind starring in. She previously saw the 1962 film "Gipsy" in London and would like to play the role of Rose in a production of the show.

The "Easy On' Me" singer noted how much she liked the show. She also recalled one of the songs she enjoyed and would like to perform. "I did love the role of the mum in it," she said. Narrating a part of the show, she added, "She has a song when she was like, 'I wanted to do all of this,' and she's jealous of her own daughter, and she's really caught up about it."

She also noted a part she was confident about performing. "At one bit, she was just a bitch in it — which I could nail." The musical drama revolves around the memoirs of the burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee from 1957. It focuses on her mother, Rose, and her role as a showbiz mom and momager.

Adele, who also already has 15 Grammy awards, got an Emmy Award in September. Her "One Night Only" on CBS earned her the Best Outstanding Variety Special category award. She also won an Academy Award for "Skyfall" as the James Bond theme song. Winning a Tony Award for an acting role would earn her an EGOT title.

She Fears The Workload That Comes With Broadway

Another roadblock to her potential Broadway career is her busy schedule and the heavy workload that the stage requires. While responding to the questions, Adele also revealed that Bette Midler, who starred as Rose in "Gypsy," told her that the workload was a lot.

Midler also discouraged her from going ahead with her desire to play the role, as she couldn't possibly handle the schedule. The star immediately agreed as she didn't have the stamina to merge a demanding schedule with her career. "I'm so lazy. I'm so notoriously lazy," Adele said. "I would not be able to do matinees and all that. I don't have the stamina for that."

However, she didn't rule out the possibility and noted that she could still perform if she had the chance to. "Never say never. If I move to New York, I get bored, I'll be on that stage in a hot second."

After initially postponing the Las Vegas-based show, the "Turning Tables" singer is set to premiere "Weekends With Adele." The Colosseum at Caesars Palace show will run from November 18th through March 2023 as her first residency show.

According to Elle, the upcoming project will tell "the story of the beginning" of the singer's career. After rescheduling the show, Adele took to Twitter to express how "horrible" she felt for postponing it earlier.

"I truly was heartbroken to have to cancel them," she said. She then expressed how excited she was to finally be able to reschedule it. Adele continued, "After what feels like an eternity of figuring out logistics for the show that I really want to deliver, and knowing it can happen, I'm more excited than ever."
