'Ellen' Star Sophia Grace 'Couldn't Face' Telling Her Dad About Unexpected Pregnancy

Sophia Grace rose to fame alongside her cousin, Rosie McClelland, for their spectacular performance of Nicki Minaj's hit song "Super Bass" in 2011. The once-little girl has since become a young adult and soon-to-be mother.

After making headlines for her pregnancy with a mystery boyfriend, the 19-year-old recently revealed how her parents reacted to the big news. How did her folks handle the situation? Keep reading to find out.

The birth of a child is usually a cause for celebration. However, not all pregnancies are planned, just like Grace's surprise baby. The TV personality dropped the unexpected news in a YouTube video on October 22 after telling the two most influential people in her life.

In an interview with E! News, the British singer confessed that she went public with the pregnancy after spilling the tea to her parents. Were the couple happy with their grandparents' status? Yes, they were.

However, the "Girl in the Mirror" artist explained that it took time for her folks to accept the good news. Unsurprisingly, the patriarch of the family needed some warming up.

"The first person that actually knew was my mom," Grace told the outlet. "My mom's reaction obviously, at the start, she was a little bit like, 'Oh wow.' But she just got used to it straight away, and she was always really happy and excited about it."

Once her mother was on board, the next line of action was getting her father's approval. A task the 19-year-old could not stomach, so she convinced her mother to shoulder the responsibility.

"Just in any normal family, it's sort of a hard thing to tell your dad—when you're a girl—that you're pregnant, and I'm sure people understand it can be a little bit awkward," Grace confessed.

The "Sophia Grace & Rosie's Royal Adventure" star continued, "we were trying to think of a way to tell my dad, and, eventually, I just got my mom to tell him because I couldn't face doing it myself." According to the influencer, she feared her father might disapprove because of her age. However, the media personality was surprised by how happy the family's patriarch was about the news.

Additionally, the soon-to-be grandparents wasted no time spoiling the unborn child with various gifts. But for Grace, these material items paled in comparison to her family's love, especially her cousin, McClelland.

Recalling the beautiful moment she broke the news to her singing partner, the Youtuber revealed that her cousin shed tears of joy upon seeing the baby's sonogram. In the 19-year-old's words:

"Honestly, it was literally one of the most happiest moments ever. She was just so happy because we've been so close our whole life, and we literally have done everything together."

Lauding her family member with praises, the "Little Things" singer noted that McClelland would be the "best cousin ever" and could not wait to introduce the blonde bombshell to her baby.

Following the announcement of her pregnancy, not everyone felt happy for Grace without sharing a few unsolicited opinions. These individuals slammed the 19-year-old for having a child at her young age.

However, "The Toy Box" alum did not let the public's unsavory opinions ruin the joy of motherhood. The British entertainer admitted that 19 was too young to have a child; however, her age was not a problem.

Grace, while clapping back at the critics, said, "I just feel it’s about the person themselves. And as long as you feel ready and it’s something that you’re happy about, then it’s really no one else’s problem."

The brunette confessed that she felt "overwhelmed" after discovering the pregnancy. However, the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and fans made the Essex native "really confident" about motherhood.

As for her baby's gender, the social media influencer admitted that she knew her child's sex. However, fans would have to wait before hearing the big news as Grace promised to do a gender reveal in the foreseeable future.
