Andrew Cuomo’s ex-girlfriend Sandra Lee is speaking out about her relationship with the New York governor and seems to be hoping they will get back together.

Lee, a former Food Network star, recently sat down with The New York Times. During the conversation, Lee discussed her current feelings about her ex-boyfriend. The two broke up back in September releasing a joint statement reading, “We have realized that our lives have gone in different directions and our romantic relationship has turned into a deep friendship.”

In her NY Times profile, Lee said she is like everyone else watching Governor Cuomo’s daily press conferences. She said, “I get up and I see what the latest news is. Of course I watch Andrew live. And then share with him my thoughts.

Lee appears to think the door may still be open for a reconciliation stating, “He’s still my guy. Neither one of us, well, as far as I know, has had a date.”

She added, “We share a home, we share children, we share friendship. I will protect him and be there for him until the day I die.” Page Six reached out to Cuomo’s rep about Lee’s comments. The rep told the outlet, “the governor wishes her well.”

As The Blast first reported, Lee came out defending the governor amid his nipple ring controversy.

The Food Network star spoke out on social media following many questioning if Cuomo had nipple rings. People started to speculate after photos of him wearing a white t-shirt during a press conference.

In her video, Lee says, “I woke up this morning to a lot of stuff going online. A lot of stories being written, and a lot of nonsense being said. And I just want to say, body shaming is not okay. It’s never going to be okay.
