'RHOC' Alum Alexis Bellino Introduces Her Transgender Son Miles On Instagram

"Real Housewives of Orange County" alum Alexis Bellino recently introduced her transgender son Miles Bellino on Instagram with a post explaining his journey. "Hey world, this is Miles. My transgender son," the caption starts out. It goes on to explain the courage it took for him to come out and why Alexis didn't open up about it on social media sooner.

"He’s now a month shy of 15 yrs old, so he’s seen the questions and comments made about him on my IG. Miles now has a voice and has asked me to do this post. I had stopped posting for the past few months due to this transition in Miles’ life, but he’s now ready to “come out” and to use this platform to stop any hate or questions," she wrote in her caption. "I refused to post this for him for a while, but now I know Miles truly wants this because he’s tired of the misgendering and confusion people have, so we are setting the record straight and hopefully bringing clarity."

The reality star explained that she's known for more than 16 months, but Miles hid it from everyone else for a while. It took him a while to get to a place where he's ready to open up about it and the mom and son agreed now was the time.

"I cannot imagine the strength and courage it took for my baby to do this, but I’m extremely proud of him and I want everyone to understand that love doesn’t change in these situations. It’s unconditional love," she wrote. "My son has now flourished!! My son now smiles naturally for the first time in years! My son now loves the clothes he wears. My son can breathe knowing he can be his true self. My son lights up every single time a stranger calls him “he.” My son runs with the boys. My son can actually FEEL. My son can live life now with his true self…."

Alexis's caption goes on to explain that this is the same child who's done so many wonderful things such as giving his only water bottle to a thirsty friend in kindergarten, and the child who gives spare money to homeless people on the street. She also explained that Miles wants to open up about his transition to hopefully stop the hate.

"I’m so proud of Miles for wanting to stop the hate, and for being brave enough to step forward at such a young age. He now has his entire life to live the way he should," the caption continued. "Let’s bring peace and happiness and unity from this. We are all human and we are ALL equal. I am 100% fully supportive of my son. I hope you will be too. I love you all. Thank you for supporting me and my family through all of our many transitions through the years. This world needs more love and kindness."

Many of Alexis's friends and social media followers jumped into the comments to share their words of love, acceptance, and how proud they are of both Miles and Bellino. Meghan King commented, "Beautiful example of love!" Andy Cohen added, "????? beautiful post ❤️❤️❤️❤️" Heather Dubrow chimed in with, "So brave and amazing - we love you both ❤️❤️❤️❤️"

Some of Alexis's social media followers were starting to notice that Miles wasn't in any of her recent photos. One follower commented on the twins' eight grade graduation post, "WHATS UP WITH THE OTHER TWIN?????" and another added, "what is up with the other twin lately??"

Alexis, who starred on "RHOC" from season 5 to 8, is also mom to James, 16, and Miles' twin sister, 14, who she shares with ex-husband Jim Bellino. Two years after her divorce from Jim was finalized, she announced that she got engaged to boyfriend Andy Bohn.
