Lili Reinhart Doesn’t Think She’ll Be Invited To The Met Gala Again
During a recent profile interview with W Magazine, Reinhart shared that she doesn’t think she’ll get an invite to another Met Gala after she criticized Kardashian after the 2022 Gala. The “Riverdale” alum had indirectly criticized the “Keeping Up With The Kardashian” alum for her extreme weight loss diet, which she underwent to fit into one of Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dresses.
During the interview, Reinhart said, “That was fun. But after going again this year, I don’t think I’ll be invited back. I said a certain something about a certain person in a certain dress.” At the 2022 Gala, Kardashian revealed that she lost about 16 pounds in three weeks to slim her body down enough into the Bob Mackie beaded dress Monroe wore while singing “Happy Birthday Mr. President” to U.S President John F. Kennedy in 1962.
She Indirectly Called Out Kim Kardashian For Her Extreme Diet
During her conversation with Vogue, Kardashian noted that she never starved herself during the diet, but her statements still went viral, leading to intense criticism of her and the extreme diet. Reinhart subsequently made an Instagram Stories post sharing her opinions on the diet but never referred to Kardashian by name.
She said, “To walk on a red carpet and do an interview where you say how starving you are… because you haven’t eaten carbs in the last month…all to fit in a f**king dress? So wrong. So f**ked on 100s of levels. To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala. When you know very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word. The ignorance is other-worldly disgusting.”
Lili Reinhart Has No Regrets About Her Statements
Despite sharing that she thinks she’ll never get another Met Gala invite, Reinhart maintains that she has no regrets about her statements on the diet and Kardashian. The “Look Both Ways” actress explained that she has “always wanted to stand for something” and is not afraid of clap back.
Reinhart also said, “And while I don’t like it if one comment by me turns into 17 articles in People magazine, I never overthink what I post. It has to be a true representation of how I feel. And I would say that whether I had 100 followers or 100 million.”
Lili Reinhart Speaks On Her Career And Plans For The Future
During her conversation with W Magazine, Reinhart also discussed her plans for her acting career now that “Riverdale” has concluded. Her new film “Look Both Ways” has been a hit on Netflix and the actress also has a production agreement with Amazon. She explained that she plans to pivot from genre to genre and explore the extent of her talent.
Reinhart said, “After doing a romance, I want to go in the opposite direction. I will never play the same characters twice. I would like to play a villain. I have the motivation: I recently had to leave my dog, Milo, alone in a hotel room, and I thought, If someone steals my dog, I’ll go John Wick on their asses! That would turn me into a villain so fast.”
