Fans Are Not Happy With Taylor Swift's 'Anti-Hero' Music Video For THIS Reason!

Taylor Swift cheekily sings "It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me" in the chorus for "Anti-Hero," which appears on her newest album, "Midnights."

Some listeners believe there is indeed a problem with an element related to the LP's third track.

Swift, 32, released a music video for the track last Friday, on the same day her highly-anticipated tenth album finally became available. In the video, Swift does one of the things she does best- she structures the video's visuals so they flow in tandem with the song's lyrics and themes.

In a scene from the video Swift can be seen stepping on a scale, and it clearly reads "Fat."

The entire video and the specific scene depict two versions of Swift: the pop star as she actually is, and an exaggerated version of herself that exhibits the more 'problematic' behaviors and components of her personality.

In this specific scene, one version of Swift weighs herself and the other version chastizes her for her weight while she is visibly uncomfortable.

Some viewers have voiced their discontent with the scene and the choice to use the word "fat" in this fashion. Those viewers are calling for the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer to make some big changes.

According to Insider, some fans have started a conversation on Twitter, discussing changes Swift could make to edit or remove the scene, which some viewers believe is a depiction of fatphobia.

Swift's devoted fanbase of 'Swifties' have played a massive role in her career and is largely responsible for the blockbuster success "Midnights" has already experienced, not even a week since its release.

Spotify announced Swift and the album have broken two massive streaming records on Saturday, an occasion The Blast covered.

It almost goes without saying that Swifties have flocked to social media to discuss various elements of the album, including their reactions to the album's two music videos that have been released so far.

The Blast took a peek into Swifties' reception of "Anti-Hero."

The music video for "Anti-Hero" also had a number of supporters. Swifties were all about its storyline, expressing their admiration for Swift's decision to showcase such a vulnerable part of herself and praising her for creating such a "relatable" story.

"I need this song more than ever and I'm so grateful to her that she shared her insecurities with us because it makes me and so many other people feel so much less alone," a fan wrote.

Swift directly addressed the video's storyline in a tweet when she announced the video's premiere. The tweet reads, "The 'Anti-Hero' music video is HERE, which I wrote and directed. Watch my nightmare scenarios and intrusive thoughts play out in real time."

As we previously shared the "Anti-Hero" music video hasn't strictly been met with overwhelming praise.

Viewer Jo Luehmann tweeted, "When @lizzo had a word considered ableist in one of her songs, she apologized and fixed it. Thousands of disabled folks spoke about it. Same with Beyoncé. But Taylor has fatphobic imagery and it's 'you don't understand' directed at fat people?"

The tweet has been retweeted over five thousand times and received seemingly countless responses.

When a fan replied to Luehmann's thread and said they "genuinely do not see the fatphobia" in the scene, Luehmann responded she had "retweeted a few threads by fat women" which presumably go into a deeper examination of the situation.

Another fan tweeted, "I don't have the emotional or mental energy to comment on the scale part in 'anti-hero,' everyone is fatphobic until proven otherwise and as much as I love Blondie I'm not surprised."

As of this writing, Swift has yet to address the allegations of fatphobic imagery in the "Anti-Hero" music video, nor has there been any confirmation that the music video could be, or will be edited in the future.

Swift released the second music video from "Midnights" on Tuesday, October 25th. The music video for "Bejeweled" was also met with praise from her supporters.
