Here's Why Katy Perry Won't Pose For Playboy

Singer Katy Perry is known for pushing the envelope in many ways. The singer has been vocal not just about her music but her religious upbringing and what that meant for the media she was allowed to consume. Her adult life and career have diverged from that background.

While she’s been known for racy content but according to an interview that she did with Cosmopolitan she doesn’t have any interest in posing for Playboy Magazine, now or in the future.

The 2010 interview with Perry was cited by People who quoted the singer as saying that she likes to “play the sexy card” but not pose nude.

“I like to play [the sexy] card because it’s fun and definitely in my deck, but I like to tease,” Perry says in the December issue of British Cosmopolitan. “I’m like a burlesque girl. I definitely won’t be doing a Playboy spread, but I will be doing a kind of Dita Von Teese style.”

Singer Katy Perry and fiancé Orlando Bloom announced that they were expecting their first child together just weeks ago and fans were excited to learn the gender of the actor and pop singer’s child.

The 35-year-old pop singer previously said that she was somewhat hoping she would have a girl and Bloom hasn’t voiced an opinion; however he is already dad to one boy, 9-year-old Flynn

Perry’s announcement went out via Instagram with a post that simply said “it’s a girl” and tagged with “Girls Run The World.”

Perry’s Facebook post was liked over three million times and received thousands of comments, including those from some the blue check brigade.

Chris Anokute congratulated the couple saying “Congrats Kathryn and @orlandobloom !! That’s major news! God is the greatest.”

Celebrity Hair stylist Rick Henry chimed in as well: “Yay!!! Congrats Katy!!! So happy for you and @orlandobloom !!! Can’t wait to meet her!!”

Youtuber Teagan Rybka shared her excitement saying, “Omg!!! YAY CONGRATULATIONS! I’m so excited!” along with many others who wished the couple well.

Singer, and apparently average pregnant lady, Katy Perry, seems to be letting the social distancing flow thorough her in a new Instagram post. Perry posted a snap of herself standing in her kitchen, eating pickles straight out of the jar, looking for all the world like your average cravings wracked American mother, asking, “What Day Is It Even.”

The pop singer has already admitted on social media that her pregnancy has given her all kinds of odd cravings, and she has made no secret of the fact that she’s indulging them.

Making a priority of social media has been a trend among those with large followings as Americans have been asked to shelter in place to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
