Wait! Is that Tom Cruise hanging with and singing for Paris Hilton? Let's have another look.

Since the release of the smashing duet "Hold Me Closer" by Elton John and Britney Spears, numerous fans globally have shown on social media how taken they are with it. Among the music lovers is the "Paris In Love" star, who was recently serenaded with the song by a movie star imitating and a deep lookalike of the renowned "Top Gun: Maverick" star.

The blonde-haired diva shared an entertaining and collaborative clip on her feed featuring herself playacting with Miles Fisher, who can pass for the famous "Mission Impossible" star.

It began with the duo holding glittery mugs in a kitchen and leaning on the counter while Hilton asked Fisher, "Tommy can you sing me that song again?" This led the 39-year-old to ask the reality star, "which one?" as he sipped from his cup. Hilton then said he knew the one she talked about, prompting Fisher to sing:

"So hold me closer, tiny dancer. Count the headlights on the highway. Lay me down in sheets of linen. You've had a busy day today."

As he sang, he stood close to the 41-year-old, then sat on the kitchen counter while Hilton, who swayed to the tune, moved to carry her fluffy pup. After finishing the tune, the "Confessions of an Heiress" author said, "It's good…but not great. You should stick to acting."

Fisher had a Cruise-like expression on his face after looking surprised. He said, "Yeah, I probably should," before leaping off the counter. The video showed the "Gods and Generals" actor comfortably dressed in a robe that revealed the fine hairs on his chest while his vido partner opted for a pink zipped-up hoodie and simple jewelry. In the caption, Hilton wrote:

"Nothing like being serenaded with my favorite #BritneySpears and @EltonJohn song. #ThatsHot, #ButCouldBeHotter, and #DeepTomCruise."

Looking like Cruise is not something Fisher was always taken with, as he told Hollywood Reporter back in July that it has been a "strange burden and liability" both personally and professionally.

Once when he was meant to give the graduating speech at his alma mater, Harvard, he was referred to as the "Tom Cruise guy," causing him to feel his identity "flipped inside out for all the world to see." He recalled that the incident made him feel mocked as he stood behind the podium with his speech vanished from his memory.

Even after college, people still told Fisher he looked like a young Cruise, triggering him to delve into acting to prove he was not the "Tom Cruise guy." He began with YouTube to "sidestep" agents and casting directors and began to rack up views leading him to get minor roles in several productions.

His videos were usually spoofs, but no matter how well he spoofed, he was too good at mimicking Mr. Mission Impossible. This hindered him professionally despite trying different voice and appearance alterations.

Nevertheless, the Texas-born eventually stopped trying to hide their resemblance when he saw one of his videos deep faked by a Belgian VFX artist Chris Umé, with Cruise's face replacing his. The fascinating work eventually led him to create more "deep fakes," getting millions of views, with people believing he was the legendary actor, not an impersonation.

Hilton, a longtime buddy of Britney Spears, has been pretty vocal about her love for the Elton John-Britney Spears duet "Hold Me Closer" and intends to keep playing it on repeat for a while.

In August, Billboard reported that she shared a TikTok video of herself dancing along to the track all over her pink Bentley. It was captioned, "Yaaaass Britney [sparkle emoji], the queen is back!"

She added, "'Hold Me Closer' is officially out & I'll be playing it on repeat until further notice! So proud of you, sis @britneyspears" alongside hashtags #HoldMeCloser, #Silving, and #ThatsHot.

Hilton and Spears' friendship dates back decades, and even the "Cooking with Paris" star was one of the fortunate few invited to the pop princess' wedding. Seeing her friend walking down the aisle admittedly made her emotional, and she described it as a "magical fairytale" that was "so beautiful and romantic."
