The "Broadway Rising" actor did a superb job conducting the wedding ceremony between Adams and Hyland as he appeared to have been born for the role.

However, per The Blast, Ferguson disclosed during an exclusive interview that he was not originally the person chosen to officiate the wedding.

He revealed that the actress’s TV dad, Ty Burrell, in the comedy series “Modern Family,” was supposed to officiate the union of the two.

He said, "I don't know if people know this, but Ty Burrell was meant to do it, and there was a family emergency. So, I got a phone call 12 days before the wedding, and that's why Ty wasn't there, he had stuff going on."

However, a couple of the stars graced the occasion – including Sofia Vergara, Ferguson’s partner, Justin Mikita, Julie Bowen, and Nolan Gould.

The "Ivy + Bean" actor also revealed that he initially panicked when given the role. In his words, "it's going to be a wedding, and it's going to be in Vogue magazine, and there's also going to be paparazzi shots of me from a helicopter, officiating" before sarcastically adding, "no pressure."

Thankfully, Ferguson had Burrell to help guide him through the entire process. The onscreen in-laws had no problem relying on one another in cross-checking and ticking all the boxes to ensure the "Vampire Academy" actress had the best day of her life.
