The truth is, Andrew did have an affair while he was married to Camilla. With more than one woman too. Now, if that isn't shocking enough, with whom he had the first affair is even more shocking.

Although Princess Diana was well-loved by the public, and Camilla is still trying to win them over to this day, it seems, Diana also had an affair. Even though many already know this by now, not much is known about Camilla's first husband, Andrew and who his affairs were with.

Camilla met Andrew at a party in 1965 and the former couple started dating. However, Andrew was seeing other women behind her back. One of those women was Princess Anne, Prince Charles' sister.

According to Royal biographer, Penny Junor, this was one of the reasons for Camilla to strike up a romance with Prince Charles behind Andrew's back.

Junor said, “When she was introduced to Charles he thought she was pretty special…he thought she was a bit of alright and she thought ‘Andrew is at the moment off with Princess Anne, you know her brother, teach Andrew a lesson’. So she had a fling with Charles."

Royal commentator, Angela Mollard also said, “Princess Anne, who we always think is the grumpy one with the bun — she had an affair with Andrew. There was a royal triangle going on."

However, the affair between Princess Anne and Andrew didn't last. He ended up marrying Camilla while Prince Charles was fighting overseas with the Royal Navy. Andrew did, however, continue to have multiple affairs on Camilla and one year after their divorce was final in 1995, in 1996 he married his long-time mistress, Rosemary Pitman.

Pitman ended up with cancer and died in 2010 at the age of 69.

Although Andrew cheated on Camilla, and she cheated on him with Prince Charles and eventually married Charles after divorcing Andrew, the former married couple is still close friends. Andrew is also close to the Royal family and still remains friends with Princess Anne. In fact, Anne named Andrew the Godfather of her daughter, Zara Tindall. Not only this but Andrew and Anne have been spotted together at many events through the years since their affair.

Royal author, Phil Dampier said, "You see them together at Royal Ascot every year and they are best friends. He was her first love and their bond goes very deep. It was a weird royal set-up which Diana went into not realizing the depth of the relationships.”

Another Royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliams said, "Musical beds is one of the sports of the upper classes. The tragedy was that in those days Charles could not marry anyone with ‘a past’ and the consequences of this when he chose Diana, as we all know, were absolutely catastrophic.”
