Emmanuel Todd Lopez, the TikTok famous emu who lives at Taylor Blake's Knuckle Bump Farms, is currently battling a tough case of avian flu. Over the weekend, Blake posted the sad news on Twitter that the avian flu struck the farm killing more than 50 of her resident birds. Just when she thought Emmanuel was spared from getting infected, he began showing signs of the illness.

Taylor Blake Asked The Irwins For Help Via Twitter

While Emmanuel is being treated by local vets and Blake is doing everything possible to help her friend recover, she also reached out to the Irwin family via Twitter asking for any additional help they may be able to provide.

Bindi Irwin responded to Blake's plea for help, but unfortunately isn't able to offer much help to the worried emu mom tweeting, "we have never treated an emu with this particular disease."

Bindi's loving tweet went on to say, "Our hearts are with you and we appreciate that you care so deeply have such compassion for darling Emmanuel. We believe that all of us need to have love for each and every individual animal. We hope that someone who has greater experience in this area can be of assistance."

Taylor Blake Has Been Giving Daily Updates On Twitter, But Not TikTok

Blake has been giving updates on Twitter a few times a day so Emmanuel's many fans can keep up with his recovery process. "Here is my daily thank you for all of the prayers, love and good energy sent our way! All of this is so awful, but I am determined to come out of this educated in more ways than one. Here’s to a brighter future, and a better tomorrow," one tweet read. She also tweeted, "I should be receiving some new vitamin supplements tomorrow, and am excited to try them. Each little bit of progress brings me joy, but we aren’t out of the woods yet. This is going to take a lot of love, patience and time."

Another update tells some good news in the form of progress, "Emmanuel Update: He’s showing more strength in his extremities daily, which is good! He also drank water in his own again today, we were slightly discouraged because he didn’t drink yesterday. He is still not capable of fully eating on his own, but he swallows on his own!"

An update earlier today shows Emmauel trying to stand up all by himself. This is the most recent update as of right now.

Emmanuel Has Many TikTok Fans

Emmanuel's more than 2.4 million TikTok followers know his fun-loving spirit and feisty attitude. He's known for pecking the phone when Blake sets it up to film social media content. While Blake hasn't posted any updates on TikTok, her Twitter page is where followers can go to get daily information on how Emmanuel is recovering. The most recent video on TikTok of Emmanuel, posted in early October, shows what a sweet emu he is and just how much he adores Blake.
