The Blast recently reported on West's unexpected and bold new move to finalize their divorce. This news comes after West hired his sixth divorce attorney.
Kanye Is Finally Ready To Wipe His Hands Clean Of Kim Kardashian
In late September, the Yeezy designer hired not one but two heavy-hitting divorce lawyers.
Ye hired Melinda Gates’ divorce attorney, Robert Stephan Cohen, of Cohen Clair Lans Greifer Thorpe & Rottenstreich LLP, per reports.
Cohen is based in New York and their divorce is taking place in the state of California, so Kanye went ahead and hired ANOTHER attorney on the West Coast.
TMZ reports the “Yeezy” designer has enlisted the legal guidance of Nicholas A. Salick of Salick Family Law Group, APLC.

The rapper’s attorney in NYC, Cohen, has represented multi-millionaires like Rupert Murdoch, Chris Rock, Athina Onassis and many more.
In court documents obtained by The Blast, West filed a “declaration of disclosure.”
“In every single divorce case in California, with the exception of default cases, both litigants must prepare and serve a set of forms known as Declarations of Disclosure. These forms are the financial statements that set forth a full disclosure for each party of their respective income, expenses, assets, and debts,” according to orangecountydivorce.com.
The “declaration of disclosure” is typically filed when a divorce is on the verge of being settled
West has sent over all of his financial statements to Kim.
Everything Appears To Be Settled Except For Custody
The former couple has settled on how they will split up their respective multi-billion-dollar empires; however, the status of the custody of their four minor children still remains unknown.
Per the outlet, there’s no indication that they came to an agreement on custody of North (9), Saint (6), Chicago (4) and Psalm (3).
This has remained a point of contention for the couple since Kim filed for divorce in February 2021.
West has publicly slammed his ex-wife for aspects of her parenting style and has simultaneously praised her.
We reported on Kim’s refusal to speak directly to her ex-husband. She will only communicate with him through assistants.

What’s more, the rapper publicly announced that he is not willing to “compromise” during an interview with Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson.
“Right now we’ve come to a compromise — but I’m not finished because I don’t compromise — but we’ve come to a compromise that my kids come to my school after school and they learn choir,” he told Carlson.
The fashion designer called out Kim during an Instagram rant for not allowing their four kids to attend his Donda School full-time.
Per reports, West’s school is still not accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
As previously mentioned, this is his sixth divorce lawyer.
Kanye Is On His 6th Divorce Lawyer
His fifth lawyer actually fired him as a client.
‘KimYe’ had a trial setting conference on Friday, August 5, in Los Angeles, CA. as part of their divorce.
His former divorce lawyer, Samantha Spector, previously asked a judge to relieve her as counsel, which basically means, “Let me go, so I can get TFO!”
Spector claimed her relationship with her client, West, was “irretrievably broken,” but wouldn’t go into further detail.
The divorce lawyer had a date set next week to officially withdraw, but the judge was feeling extra nice and granted her request to withdraw on Friday.
In May, The Blast exclusively reported on Spector filing the legal documents to withdraw from his ongoing and never-ending divorce from Kardashian.
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Spector filed to withdraw from the high-profile family law case.
In the filing, Spector says there has been an irreconcilable breakdown in the attorney-client relationship.
