Wayne Brady Reveals Odd Isolation Situation with Ex-Wife's Boyfriend: 'We Are Family'

With orders all across the country for people to self-quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic, it's forced some to spend more time together than they otherwise would. This can be problematic as fights and arguments are sure to arise, simply out of being around each other for extended and indefinite amounts of time. It is temporary, though. And at least you're not in Wayne Brady's situation, which involves the personality being cooped up in the house with not only his children and ex-wife, but also, his ex-wife's new boyfriend.

The 47-year-old comedian recently spoke with Access Hollywood about the peculiar living arrangements during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown. According to Brady, the situation isn't that bad at all, as he and his ex-wife, Mandie Taketa, have become great friends over the years and even better co-parents.

"My ex-wife Mandy and I, we have a different and a very special situation than a lot of people that co-parent... For the entire duration of [Malie's] life, we have co-parented as best friends," Brady shared with Access Hollywood, while also adding the two are 'virtually next-door neighbors'.

"Our quarantining is a little different, we quarantine between both of our homes and I've got a big back yard and lots of land, so we both share this land and this space," Brady continued. "Mandie, her boyfriend Jason, my daughter Maile, we are a family, so we're like this new, nuclear family..."

Not only is the comedian kosher with the current lockdown situation, he says he uses moments like this with his family to inspire some of the bigger projects he's been a part of such as his latest television show 'Wayne Brady's Comedy IQ'.

"Moments like this bring you closer," the actor continued to explain to Access. "So we've been doing Tik Toks, we've been playing board games, we played spades, hearts, we've been in my studio writing songs together and freestyling, walking the dogs... It's an amazing time for family because it's kind of like a time out."

Brady was then asked how many rolls of toilet paper he currently had at home, to which he was unsure. But he did attribute the idea of keeping a fully stocked house to his mother and his upbringing. The comedian jokingly revealed that they kept 50 toothbrushes and two closets full of towels in the household at all times.

Within the same interview, Brady was asked about his seemingly 'double life' as he performed as 'The Fox' on FOX's 'The Masked Singer'. According to the comedian, he knew he won the competition long before the rest of the world did. "Trust me, when you win something, that kind of helps you sleep well at night," Brady quipped about the competition.

Brady explained that he had a leg up on the other contestants as a result of working at Disney World as a teenager. "I was Goofy and Tigger," he said. "Especially the Tigger outfit was exactly like wearing the fox outfit with the head and the line of visibility and there was this belt wrapped around your midsection attached to this PVC pipe which is the Tigger tail and the Tigger outfit fit skin-tight."
