Shakira Hangs With Gerard Piqué's Mother Amid Nasty Custody Battle

Shakira is keeping things civil with her ex-partner’s mother.

The Colombian singer was spotted spending time with Gerard Piqué’s mother, Montserrat Bernabéu.

It appears the fútbol player’s mom is siding with Shakira in this instance.

According to reports, Bernabéu told Piqué that he is making a big mistake by leaving the mother of his children.

Shakira and Piqué were together for nearly 12 years before she reportedly caught him in bed with another woman.

The Barcelona defender is currently dating an employee from his company, Kosmos. Her name is Clara Chia Marti.

Piqué has reportedly bought a house worth four million euros, $3.9 million US dollars, according to paparazzo Jordan Martín.

The home is located near his current house, but he has plans to make it into a “lover’s paradise” which he will share with Clara.

A source close to the FC Barcelona player said they still live in his bachelor pad in the center of Barcelona, but they have plans to move into the new home in the coming months.

"It's a new house, in a very elite area of Barcelona and close to where Shakira lives", the source said. “This is something that will also give the couple more privacy and comfort, given they will also be closer to the children.”

Shakira and Piqué’s mom reportedly hugged one another before the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer went in on her ex-lover.

She complained to Monserrat about Piqué’s attitude and new, young girlfriend.

Clara reportedly met Piqué’s family in August.

Martín said, "Piqué's mother defended her son's girlfriend, saying that she was a polite and affectionate girl, and things became tense.”

Piqué reportedly has introduced his and Shakira’s two children, Milan and Sasha, to his 23-year-old girlfriend.

This obviously is a MAJOR issue given Shakira and Piqué are still battling over custody of their kids.

Photos obtained by Spanish program “El Gordo y La Flaca” show the fútbol player passing the soccer ball with his sons while Clara is present.

The images were captured very close to their second residence, a house which Shakira and the soccer player were seen together in many times.

As previously mentioned, the former couple is still engulfed in a bitter custody battle.

Piqué is adamant about keeping the children in Barcelona while the Colombian native wants to move them to Miami with her.

Shakira has a home in the Florida city, and the move would allow her to continue her musical career.

While Piqué has moved on, Shakira on the other hand has kept quiet… on purpose.

“It’s hard to talk about it, especially because I’m still going through it, and because I’m in the public eye and because our separation is not like a regular separation,” Shakira told Vanity Fair. “And so it’s been tough not only for me, but also for my kids.”

The “Waka Waka” singer said the paparazzi have been camping outside of her home since news of their split and Piqué’s alleged affair made headlines.

She’s been working hard to “protect” her children amid all the hustle and bustle surrounding her life.
