Kanye West Accused Of 'Undermining' & 'Diminishing' George Floyd's Death, Legal Action Pending

George Floyd’s family is upset that Kanye West is speaking of him in a negative light. They are now threatening legal action.

The rapper is still upsetting a bunch of people on his antics tour. The “Stronger” rapper appeared on The Drink Champs podcast and made harmful statements about Floyd’s death. He claimed that the black male who was murdered by police in the street of Minneapolis, in a pretty obvious manner, actually died from a drug overdose and not a police officer kneeling on his neck for 9 minutes.

The comment reached the east of Floyd’s still grieving family and they are not happy about the stuff that West is saying.

LeeMerritt, a civil rights lawyer and attorney for the Floyd family, reached out for the 45-year-old rapper’s attention the best way he knows how, through social media. Merritt posted that the family is interested in pursuing legal action against the “Mercy” Rapper.

“While one cannot defame the dead, the family of #GeorgeFloyd is considering suit for Kanye’s false statements about the manner of his death,” he writes.

“Claiming Floyd died from fentanyl not the brutality established criminally and civilly undermines & diminishes the Floyd family’s fight.”

Meritt was quickly met with support form his followers who, too, believe that West is a little out of line.

Not only is the hate piling up on Twitter via Merritt’s post, The Drink Champs' post on IG was flooded with hate as well.

“It’s shameful you are giving him room to spew lies and misinformation about the most hurtful, inhumane way someone’s dad, beloved son died. Ye is clearly not in his best form right now and it’s shameful people are using him for clouts and political gain,” wrote a concerned fan.

“You basically gave that man a platform to say George Floyd died of a drug overdose and now you are backtracking and making excuses,” claimed a follower.

Finally, one comment point out that no matter what, it’s on video and people saw what they saw. “Nah you didn’t say shit that corrected him about George Floyd. WE DO CARE! The officers knee WAS on his neck.”

The rapper also said some things that most would call intense. He claimed that, “Jewish zionist” are controlling the media, specifically, the back voice, he reiterated that, “white lives matter” and he expressed annoyance with his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian admitting to having sex with Pete Davidson on a rug in front of a fire.
