R. Kelly’s recent request to be let out of prison includes a proposed plan which has him moving into an apartment complex in the middle of an outdoor shopping mall.

As The Blast previously reported, Kelly is once again trying to convince a judge to let him out on bond in his criminal case. He has previously attempted to make various arguments, but they have all been shut down.

In his recent attempt, Kelly says the current pandemic makes his stay at Chicago MCC quite dangerous given the circumstances. He complains about the inability to meet with his lawyers to help build his defense for his two pending federal criminal cases.

In recent court documents, Kelly’s lawyer proposed a plan to have the disgraced singer be released from prison and move into an apartment with his girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage. The lawyer revealed Savage is no longer living in Kelly’s luxury 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom, 2,022 sq. ft. Trump Tower Chicago condo. The amenities included a door person, elevator, exercise room, health club, pool, sauna, restaurant, storage, and valet.

The docs note Savage is currently living in an extremely modest apartment which is 11 minutes from the Trump Tower Chicago. The large apartment complex offers 1-2-bedroom apartments with rent ranging from $2,000 to around $4,000. The home is a far cry from Kelly’s former digs.

Kelly offers to live with Savage under home arrest if the judge allows him out of prison. The documents failed to note the apartment is built into an outdoor mall, which is constantly full of underage girls. The apartment is directly next door to an Old Navy, H&M, Victoria’s Secret and a movie theater. Kelly can look directly down into the shopping area from the proposed apartment.

The proposal seems like it would cause concern for someone who is accused of being a child sex predator.

Prosecutors have previously opposed Kelly's pleas to be let out of prison. They argue he is a danger to society who has a pattern of abusing young women. A judge has yet to rule on the singer's recent motion.
