TV personality Todd Chrisley spills all about his daughter Lindsie Chrisley's estrangement from her family.
In 2017, Lindsie had a fallout with the family and stopped appearing on the family's reality series "Chrisley Knows Best." The 33-year-old later publicly stated that she had no plans to reconcile with her family. However, she was seen giving public support for her parents, Todd and Julie, after they were convicted on federal charges of bank fraud and tax evasion, suggesting that the family was on the path to reconciliation.
On PodcastOne's "Chrisley Confession" (via People), Todd and his other family members discussed Lindsie's estrangement and its impact on their relationship.

'We Needed This Estrangement'
In a new episode of PodcastOne's "Chrisley Confessions," Lindsie, 33, as well as her parents, Todd and Julie, and sister Savannah, detailed their "family fight," which made headlines at the time. Todd notably stated that he was not ready for the "estrangement" of Lindsie from the family, which resulted from the fight.
"But I will tell you now, looking back, we needed this estrangement," Todd said on the episode, per People. "Because there's no way I'd be where I am today if I had not — really, if [Lindsie] had not forced the estrangement by leaving Chrisley Knows Best and cutting off communication."
Lindsie left the family's reality show in 2017 after a massive fallout with her parents. Her decision to leave took a huge emotional toll on the family at the time. However, Todd's disclosure of the family needing the estrangement showed that they might have taken out the time to iron their differences.
He added: "I didn't know how to function without talking to y'all every day of my life, 100 times a day, knowing every move you were making,"
Lindsie Chrisley Says She Regrets Leaving
Todd said the whole situation "came off as being weird," despite his belief that the distancing was essential. Lindsie responded by claiming she agreed with her father's argument and "would have" listened to her family more if she could go back in time.
"This all had to happen," Todd added, referencing how the family all grew apart at the time, before adding how the estrangement helped the family bond better later.
Todd told Lindsie: "You and I, I don't believe, would be where we are today without the estrangement." The family's reconciliation comes after Todd and Julie were convicted in June this year of conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and wire and tax fraud.
Lindsie Offered Her Support During Todd And Julie Chrisley's Fraud Trial
Around the time, Lindsie offered her support to her parent during an episode of her Coffee Convos podcast amid the ongoing trial.
"I will also go on record today and say that I love my parents, I love my siblings, I love my grandmother," she said on the show in June, per People. "And what is the future of our relationships at this point, I'm currently not going to discuss any more than that, other than the fact that I love them and I stand with them. And I will continue to stand with them through the good, the bad, and the ugly."
Since the verdict, Todd and Julie have filed a joint motion to ask for a new trial. In the meantime, the court has scheduled their sentencing for November 21.
'Chrisley Knows Best'
The reality television series "Chrisley Knows Best" on the USA Network helped the Chrisley family gain notoriety. It debuted on March 11, 2014, and has since spanned nine season, with the latest premiering on August 12, 2021.
The show follows the lives of Georgia real estate tycoon Todd and his family, which includes Julie, Lindsie, Savannah, and Chase Chrisley. A spin-off centered on Chase and Savannah Chrisley called "Growing Up Chrisley" debuted in 2019.
Following Todd and Julie's guilty verdict for bank fraud and tax evasion, it is unclear if their reality series will be renewed for a tenth season as the charges brought against them carry a maximum sentence of 30 years. The couple has been very open about their struggles since the guilty verdict and has asked fans who reached out to help to keep them in their prayers.
