Tom DeLonge Is Astounded By The Fan Turnout

“So, this little trio has almost sold out the entire world in a few hours on the advanced ticketing opening… Jesus. Yes, I’m tripping,” he began. “Adding new shows, extra dates in cities, those almost sold out completely yesterday, too… Tomorrow, the rest of the General tickets go on sale. Please try and come ❤️. “

DeLonge warned fans of scalpers who are getting large amounts of tickets and jacking up the prices.

He also took a moment to thank Matt Skiba, who stepped in for DeLonge when he left the group for good in 2015.

Quick history on the Blink.

The band first split in 2005 before reuniting four years later. Then in 2015, DeLonge tapped out for good and the band continued with Barker, Hoppus and Skiba.

DeLonge’s message was very heartfelt and sincere.

He captioned the post, “I sent this to Matt personally, but it’s important for the world to know that I honor him.”

Tom Pens Heartfelt Note To Matt Skiba

He wrote, “Hi Matt- Tom DeLonge here. I wanted to take a minute to say thank you for all that you have done to keep the band alive and thriving in my absence. I think you are enormously talented (I still love to listen to your band to this day).  You have always been so kind to me, not only in the press, but also to others. I really noticed.”

DeLonge’s gracious words didn’t end there.

“Emotions between the three of us in blink have always been complicated, but Mark’s cancer really put things in perspective. But to be honest, the band would not even be here today if it were not for your ability to jump in and save the day. So from my heart to yours, thank you for being a member of our band. 🤘🏻,” he concluded.

DeLonge’s fans received his post very well and praised him for recognizing Skiba.

“This is what we were expecting ❤️ hope to see Matt on stage with you guys one of these days,” one fan commented.

“Very gracious. I hope Matt reads and appreciates the gesture,” another replied.

“I am so thankful for Matt keeping the band going,” a fan gushed. “I am really thankful that you guys are back together too!!!”

Many others suggested Skiba join Blink 182 on the tour.

A lot has happened for each member of the group since they disbanded.

Barker was in a horrible plane crash in 2008 that left two of the four people onboard dead. He was one of two survivors.

He suffered severe burns to his body leaving him in the burn unit for months, and he also had to get several surgeries.

Barker married Kourtney Kardashian this year.

Hoppus was diagnosed with cancer in July 2021. He revealed on social media that he was undergoing treatment to diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, or DLBCL, a common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

During a Q&A he said, “My classification is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma stage IV-A, which means, as I understand it, it's entered four parts of my body. I don't know how exactly they determine the four-part of it, but it's entered enough parts of my body that I'm stage IV, which I think is the highest that it goes. So, I'm stage IV-A."

In September 2021, Hoppus announced he was CANCER FREE.

“Just saw my oncologist and I’m cancer free!! Thank you God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love,” he wrote. “Still have to get scanned every six months and it’ll take me until the end of the year to get back to normal but today is an amazing day and I feel so blessed. Can I get a W in the chat?”

As you can see, Blink 182 has A LOT to celebrate.
