Lizzo is dropping bombshells about her nontraditional romance with Myke Wright!
The entertainer, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, needs no introduction, given her music industry domination. Outside her career, the 34-year-old slays as Queen even in her relationships.
In a heart-to-heart conversation with Vanity Fair, the "About Damn Time" songstress opened up about her future with her comedian boyfriend. Are there possible wedding bells? Keep reading to find out!
Lizzo Is In Love But Not Ready To Embrace The Next Step In Her Relationship
Whatever Lizzo does, the body positivity advocate does it in style. For Vanity Fair's November 2022 Issue, the Detroit native graced the renowned publication's cover in an all-red number.
The showstopper sported an oversized furry coat that enveloped her curvy body. The "Truth Hurts" singer's assets may have been hidden under a fluffy blanket, but it did not stop the 34-year-old from giving a little fan service.
Lizzo flashed her thighs while rocking fishnet stockings on a pair of impressively high platform boots designed with a lace-up pattern and stiletto heels. Giving rockstar vibes, the entertainer donned Black eye makeup with matching black lipstick.
Throughout the magazine, the BET Award winner's fashion prowess did not go unnoticed as she wore different figure-appealing ensembles. However, drooling over the flutist's curves was not the main course.
Talking to the media outlet's rep, Lisa Robinson, the "Hustlers" star, got candid about her relationship status, precisely her views on monogamy. For those in the know, the hip-hop sensation previously sparked speculations about her love life after expressing her disbelief in monogamy.
The "Water Me" artist dropped the unexpected news during an appearance on "The Breakfast Club." The interview came after Lizzo's relationship with Wright went public, needless to say, without her consent.
As a person who enjoys keeping her life private, the 34-year-old did not enjoy having the paparazzi in her face or poking around her new man. Nonetheless, the AMA nominee could not help but share details about Wright.
"I've known him for over six years. He's everything. We're just in love. And that's it," Lizzo said before giving a detailed explanation of her monogamous views. Turning to the interviewer, the TV personality posed the rhetorical question: "Is monogamy a religion?" According to the Detroit native, people acted like they worshiped monogamy, a concept that did not sit right with the musician.
The chart-topper clarified that she did not have a polygamous nature, nor did she give her heart to multiple partners. The lucky man receiving the "UglyDolls" voice actress's sole affection is Wright, whom the 34-year-old described as her "life mate."
"He’s the love of my life. We are life mates." Lizzo continued. "Do I want to get married? If I wanted to start a business with him, I’d get married because that’s when your finances come together. I like weddings. I would like to have a wedding over a marriage."
As for why she chose not to describe her relationship as monogamous, the 34-year-old elaborated that she was not referring to sex but individuality in a relationship. In her words:
"How wonderful would it be to be this complete independent person and to come together to make two complete independent people? Not that whole 'You complete me, you’re my other half.'"
The showstopper noted that her relationship with the comedian was built on the fact that the pair served as each other's mirror image. However, this did not mean the entertainer was incomplete before she met Wright.
The 'Lizzo's Watch Out for the Big Grrrls' Host Got A Cute Nickname From Her Man
Last month, The Blast reported that Lizzo was happy to be off the market and in the sweet arms of her adorning lover. During a candid interview, the "Tempo" artist gushed about her newfound joy and revealed the "cute" nickname he gave her.
Wright affectionately called his beau "Melly," a pet name coined from the songstress's first name, Melissa. The lovebirds first met in 2016 while serving as co-hosts for MTV's music series "Wonderland."
The iHeartRadio Music Award winner confirmed the pair's relationship in April 2022; however, the couple first sparked dating rumors last year after they were spotted having dinner in Los Angeles.
