“Dancing With the Stars” host Alfonso Ribeiro recently got some heat from fans after calling Shangela by the wrong name. In last week's episode, you can hear the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" actor refer to the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star as “Angela,” not “Shangela.”
Shangela addressed the mistake in a hilarious TikTokvideo, but last night, while on live television, the Drag Queen called Ribeiro out for the mistake.

After dancing a Charleston to the song "Dig a Little Deeper" from Disney's "The Princess and the Frog" on last night's episode of "Dancing With the Stars," Shangela went to the sky box to chat with host Alfonso Ribiero about their performance.
Ribeiro went to ask Shangela about not knowing what "sickle foot" was, which was a reference to her intro package, the Drag Queen snapped back and brought up the topic that was on everyone's minds.
"The real question: Did you learn my name?" she asked him, referring to the many times he has called her "Angela" instead of "Shangela." The question made the other contestants and the audience go silent as Shangela laughed it off. The moment left Ribeiro stunned and tongue-tied.
"Well... Hello. Hello. Listen," Ribeiro said before trying to figure out how to respond. "I mean yes. Okay. You got me before I got to you."
Noticing he was caught off guard, Shangela stepped back in and said, "I'm sorry. Angela is here for you baby."
The "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" actor finally gathered his thoughts and responded, "Listen, I wanted to say, the last couple of weeks, I did actually say your name a couple of times wrong. I did say 'Angela,' which is my wife's name, so it was a term of endearment. You know what I'm saying?"
Shangela replied with, "You know I love you baby. And you are my Alfondo," she joked, purposely misspeaking his name.
The Drag Queen then received their scores, which were 8s across the board from the judges -- giving them their highest score in the competition yet! They sat towards the top of the leaderboard with a 32 out of 40.
Shangela Calls Alfonso Ribero Out For Using Wrong Terminology
This is not the first time the two have had awkward moments.
During the second week of the competition, host Alfonso Ribeiro spoke to Shangela following her performance, asking the star what it’s like performing as the first male couple on the long-running competition series. Shangela was quick to call out Ribero for using the wrong terminology, further explaining what it meant to her to be a part of the show.
“Well, first of all, it’s male and Drag Diva, but yes, indeed,” Shangela said laughing. “Honestly, you know what? To be anyone who gets to walk through a door, there’s a responsibility. Not only to walk through there fiercely but also to push it open for the others coming behind. And that’s what we’re hoping to do tonight.”
The reality competition show recently moved from its home of ABC to Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, and airs every Monday night at 8 p.m. ET.
