Adult film star and Twitch streamer Adriana Chechik was injured during TwitchCon on Saturday (October 8) after jumping into a seemingly harmless foam pit.
Chechik hurt her back after taking a victory jump into a foam pit after winning a foam jousting match against fellow streamer EdyBot (Eden Neville). A clip of Chechik suffering the injury was first posted on Twitter by user Clippy Chimp on Sunday morning before going viral.

Adriana Chechik Suffers Devastating Back Injury At TwitchCon
Kotaku reports that during TwitchCon, streamers were taking part in foam gladiatorial-style jousting matches on elevated platforms. Some people were reportedly hurt after jumping into the foam pit, and Chechik appears to be one of them. TwitchCon was held from Friday through Sunday at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California.
In the clip, Chechik is celebrating before taking a big leap and hitting the foam pieces of the pit. She appeared to land badly and looked to be in pain. Soon, it was clear something was wrong and she was heard saying, “I can’t get up.”

Chechick later announced the extent of her injuries. She rolled over in clear pain as officials checked on her. She wrote on her Twitter on Sunday, “Well, I broke my back in two places and am getting surgery to put a meter rod in for support today. Send your support. When it rains it pours and I am definitely feeling the rain right now.”

Chechik’s friend and fellow streamer, EdyBot, who was the other person in the pit, shared her support for Chechik and encouraged other people to come forward if they were injured in the pit.
I’m the other girl in the video and a friend of Adriana. She would love to hear from other people who were injured in the same pit. Please dm me if you know anyone else who got hurt! I fell very lightly, and still felt a jolt up my back, and had pain for the rest of the night.

It appears other attendees who fell into the pit were also hurt and suffered various injuries, as noted in various responses to EdyBot on Twitter:
Yeah my dumbass fell in after my round and I couldn’t walk most of last night and today the back still hurts

The foam pit was a collaboration between Intel and Lenovo. As noted by Kotaku, a spokesperson for Lenovo revealed that the pit was later closed after the incident. Other attendees, including EdyBot and The Washington Post’s Nathan Grayson, indicated the injuries were likely caused by how shallow the pit is.
Chechik herself wrote in another tweet later on that the pit had a “rhinestone pad at the bottom.”
Why did #legion tell ppl they could dive into the pit knowing they had the rhinestone pad at the bottom? I hv heard of multiple ppl who have bad injuries. Also the announcers during my fall wer kinda rude saying walk it off…. https://t.co/9JaQnsAzlv

Chechik also shared that an off-work EMT worked to get the other booth worker to realize that she was badly hurt and helped her after the injury. Additionally, she later revealed that she is undergoing surgery to have a meter rod put in to support her. She also tweeted on Sunday, “Well, I broke my back in two places and am getting surgery to put a meter rod in for support today. Send your support.” Chechik continued, “When it rains it pours and I am definitely feeling the rain right now.”
Special shout out to the random off work EMT who got the workers at the booth to realize how bad I was injured and to make them keep me still and calm me down until others got there. U rly kept me from crying badly.

The Lenovo spokesperson said to Kotaku after the foam pit was closed that they plan to “work with event organizers to look into the incidents.”
Besides her work in adult entertainment, Chechik has a significant following on Twitch, where she has 804,000 followers. At the 2017 AVN Awards, she received Female Performer of the Year honors.
