Did Imogen Heap Hint At A Future Taylor Swift Rerecording?

'Swifties' now have yet another bit of proof of Taylor Swift being quite the busy bee lately!

Not that her devoted fanbase necessarily needs any. Even the most casual listeners of Swift's music have likely seen the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer in action while she is in the process of ushering a new career era into pop music's atmosphere!

The 32-year-old is currently right smack in the middle of this process; The Blast has kept a close eye on 'Blondie' lately as she begins rolling in her tenth album "Midnights," which will be released on October 21st!

Swift announced "Midnights" on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards in late August, and over the course of the next month, began revealing names of "Midnights'" 13 tracks in a series on her TikTok account she calls "Midnights Mayhem With Me," as well as revealing additional versions of the album's front and back covers, to name a few tidbits!

However, it seems as if Swift isn't only focusing on her upcoming album.

Singer Imogen Heap, who has been a collaborator of Swift's in the past, shared an Instagram story that soon made its way onto Swifties' radars! Read on to find out what Heap's Instagram post may mean for Swift's next career move.

Swift was ready to make a change back in the mid-2010s. After proclaiming she believed love to be "burning red" on her 2012 LP "Red," which featured glimpses showcasing a foray into pop music, her next album "1989" would be a complete departure from any material her fans had ever heard.

"1989" featured eighties-inspired synth beats and tracks that seemed to reflect the ethereal feeling of the album.

One of those tracks, "Clean," was co-written with Heap.

Heap had been forthright with her fans while later reflecting on the recording process for the track.

According to Billboard, Heap detailed her experience in a blog post.

"I have to be honest here and say that I ever so slightly had not done my homework on Taylor Swift," she writes, "but had done what I HATE others do of me, which is to pre-judge a person based on assumptions. I had assumed Taylor didn't write too much of her own music (as is the case with many young, extremely successful artists these days who sell a shed load of records)," she continued, "and was likely puppeteered by an aging gap of music executives."

The duo had also taken a polaroid picture together. Polaroids had been an aspect of the "1989" album aesthetic; the standard and deluxe versions of the album both included sets of polaroid pictures!

Swifties were suddenly overcome with "1989" vibes on Tuesday, October 4th!

Swift fan account @repqueen782 on Twitter shared a tweet yesterday featuring a screenshot of Heap's Instagram story, where Heap is leaning over a piano. The caption says, "Been working on a little rework of a certain song from a certain artist while the studio is free. Been up all night. Haven't played this piano or [have] been [at] theroundhouse for ages."

While there has been no explicit confirmation from Swift or her team about new information surrounding the re-recording of "1989," Swifties on Twitter seem to believe Heap is strongly implying she is working on the re-recording of "Clean."

Swift has released two tracks from the re-recorded Taylor's Version of "1989" so far. "Wildest Dreams" (Taylor's Version) was released last year after the original version experienced success on TikTok, and "This Love (Taylor's Version)" was featured in the trailer for Amazon Prime's TV adaptation of Jenny Han's "The Summer I Turned Pretty" book series.
