One Royal Expert Claims Meghan Markle Turned Prince Harry Into an 'Awful, Sad Man'

Although it's been months since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced that they would be stepping back from the royal family, some experts are discussing the fallout from that decision. Markle, in particular, as been the subject of a number of rumors, and there are many in the British media who blame her for forcing Harry out of the family.

Royal photographer Arthur Edwards said that, while he initially believed Markle was a great addition to the royal family, he eventually changed his mind.

“She is an actress and for the first year I thought she was wonderful. I thought she was a great ambassador for the country. I now realize it was acting," he explained to Dan Wootton in an interview on talkRADIO.

“She turned Harry into this dour, awful, sad man," Edwards continued. While some reports have suggested that Harry and Meghan are happier than ever now that they've left the royal family, Edwards paints a somewhat contradictory picture of how Harry is feeling today.

When Wootton asked Edwards whether he thought Meghan was acting throughout her time as a royal, he seemed to confirm that that was his belief. "I think she was playing a very good part," Edwards said. "They say ‘Meghan gets what Meghan wants’ but I’ll tell you this, she’s lost the love of the British public and she’s got to work very hard to get that back.”

Now that she's left the royal family, Meghan may not need the approval of the British people the way she once did.

“It feels like Meghan had made her mind up,” Wootton said. “Nothing was going to keep her in the U.K. in the end.”

Edwards and Wootton also discussed the possible reasons why Meghan would be interested in heading to America. “And you wonder what it is in America that’s drawn her there — whether she’s had an offer of a big film," Edwards said. “I wouldn’t be surprised because any producer that would put her in a film would sell a lot of tickets because we would all want to go and see it.”

While Edwards acknowledged that Meghan may prefer her life outside of the U.K., he thinks Harry will ultimately want to return to his home. “I personally think that he will come back and whether she comes or not, I don’t know,” Edwards said. “He will miss it so much. He’ll miss his own family and he’ll miss this country."

Only time will tell whether Edwards's belief is true. Until that time, it seems Harry will spend his days with his wife and sonin North America.
