Brooklyn Nets Star Kyrie Irving Quietly Welcomes Baby Number 3

Kyrie Irving is a dad of three now!

According to Brooklyn Nets' coach Steve Nash, Irving and his wife Marlene Wilkerson welcomed their second child together on Tuesday. CBSSports.com announced that Nick Friedell of ESPN.com reported that Irving didn't practice with the team on Wednesday and may not play in Thursday's preseason game against the Miami Heat because of the birth. It's also been reported that the NBA star may take the next few days off before returning to the court.

The Blast reported the possibility of Wilkerson being pregnant back in August after Irving posted a carousel of photos on Instagram. Fans wondered if one of the snaps could be a subtle pregnancy announcement because of Irving's hand placement. And now less than three months later, it seems they were right. Many commented on the post with the assumption there was another baby on the way saying, "Another one coming kyrie?," and lots of messages of congrats. The couple are already parents to son Kaire, born in June 2021. Irving is also dad to Azurie Elizabeth, 6, with his ex, Andrea Wilson.

While no other information has been made available yet, fans of Irving know it may be time before he posts on social media about the new baby. The couple also quietly welcomed Kaire. Wilkerson posted a video on YouTube titled, "Our Pregnancy Journey" shortly after the baby was born. The video took viewers through her pregnancy and some of her waterbirth. Instagram followers didn't get a glimpse of the baby until a few months ago when Irving posted the carousel of photos that questioned if another baby was on the way.

Irving recently posted a touching photo of him and his daughter Azurie marking the start of his 12th NBA season on Instagram captioned, "My Princess told me, don’t you mess around this year Daddy, everyone will be watching. SZN 12 ♾?? I love you Azurie Elizabeth❤️." The post received more than 2,600 comments of love and support.

Back in June, Wilkerson posted a photo of her and Irving and her pregnant belly from the last pregnancy on Instagram, but there was no mention in the caption that they were expecting again. "14 months postpartum and it’s my favorite journey yet. A teacher, leader, explorer, observer, and protector. The most gentle father and best friend. One of her followers commented a few weeks ago with, "I’ve been off the grid and wow wow look another baby on the way congratulations ???."
