Kourtney Kardashian Talked To Therapist When Travis Barker First Asked Her On Date

Since first becoming an item in January 2021 and eventually walking down the aisle in May 2022, Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Travis Barker are fast becoming the "It Couple."

However, their love didn't stand a chance initially as Kourtney wasn't fully onboard with the idea of dating a longtime friend. The reality star dished on the early stages of her romance with her husband and the uncertainties it involved.

The Poosh founder made an appearance on Tuesday's episode of the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast with host Amanda Hirsch and dished on her romance with the Blink 182 drummer and how she is so much in love with him and he feels the same way about her.

However, it wasn't always that way from the start, as she was scared to take their friendship to another level. When asked about the "Will they won't they" situation she had with Travis, Kourtney confessed that she sometimes entertained the thought of dating the drummer when they were just friends.

"I used to think it, but also I think what we both have kinda always said to each other is that we felt like home at a distance. Like during times when I felt maybe not at my best, I remember going with him and all the kids, maybe going to church or an art museum..."

Kourtney even revealed a fun tidbit that Travis was the first person to introduce her to matcha, something that has become a staple in her life. Despite the close bond they shared, the mother-of-three shunned the suggestions that they should date because "she was afraid of something real."

When Hirsch then asked how the transition to lovers started, Kourtney revealed that Travis asked her on a movie date but didn't make any physical move. However, she was so afraid that she spoke to her therapist about it.

"I remember telling my therapist. I was like, 'Travis asked me to go to the movies, and she was like, 'and are you gonna go?' And I was like, 'I could never go. I could never,'" Kourtney recalled. "And she was like, why? He sounds like a good dad, and he’s all the things, and I just was like, what if he tried to kiss me? What if he held my hand? And she was like, so what?"

Kourtney admitted she had a guard up for so long because the possibility of dating Travis felt "too real." It also didn’t help that her friends kept urging them to date. Although the Lemme founder is thrilled to have found the one in Travis, she has a little regret about how things started with them.

The eldest daughter of the Kardashian-Jenner clan admitted that she and her husband often talk about how they would have had more time together if they had dated earlier, but they are forever grateful for the right timing.

When asked to dish on the things the LaSalle Records label founder sometimes does that annoy her, Kourtney declared that Travis is an absolute sweetheart and they don’t fight. "We have talks, we love to talk, but we’re not fighters like yelling, screaming, and hanging up and all that. But we like to sit down face-to-face but the fire or something and talk," she divulged.

As for the secret of their thriving romance, Kourtney revealed that it’s making the most of the quality time they spend together despite their busy schedules.

Kourtney’s appearance on the podcast comes days after she doted on her man after he surprised her with a giant bouquet. As The Blast reported, in late September, the 43-year-old took to her Instagram Story to show off the giant flower he got her following the launch of her multivitamins brand, Lemme.

She showed off the gorgeous arrangement, which consisted of colorful flowers ranging from pink, green, and lavender, and captioned the post, "My husband is my dream come true." Travis reposted the flowers on his Story and called his woman "everything."
