Alex Rodriguez is not giving up on love!
Over the years, the former professional baseball player who goes by the moniker A-Rod has experienced his fair share of failed relationships.
Despite being infamously known for dating high-profile celebrities like his ex-fiancée, Jennifer Lopez, the Manhattan native strongly believes he is a catch.
Alex Rodriguez Talks Jennifer Lopez Moving On With Ben Affleck
Rodriguez recently appeared on CNN's Chris Wallace's new celebrity interview program, "Who's Talking to Chris Wallace." During their sit-down, the retired athlete got drilled about his love life and suspected inability to settle down.
Wallace started out asking the former MLB player how he felt about his ex-fiancée Lopez reuniting with her former flame Ben Affleck just days after their split. "Honestly, does it bother you that, within days after you broke up, that she was back to seeing Ben Affleck and that she ended up getting married to him, not you?" Wallace asked so sharply.
Before tackling this difficult question, the former New York Yankees superstar diluted the tension with a bit of humor. The Manhattan native playfully suggested that he would never be a presidential candidate because of Wallace's questioning skills.
As for his feelings about the pop culture icon's marriage to the "Gone Girl" actor, Rodriguez explained that he had nothing but love for his ex-fiancée. In his words, "With Jennifer, look, It was a good experience, and I wish her and the children — who are smart and beautiful and wonderful — I wish them the very best."
As you might know, J-Lo and A-Rod were quite the big deal romantically, dating for almost five years — two of which saw them engaged — before shockingly calling it quits in 2021.
A month before their split, speculations about the former couple breaking up spread through the grapevines. Although a source shared that the pair were "working through things," the sensational singer and the baseball champion announced their breakup in a joint statement on April 15.
"We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects."
Months later, rumors surfaced that the "Hustlers" actress had found love again in the arms of Affleck — whom she was engaged to for two years between 2002 and 2004. Almost a year later, the rekindled lovers were engaged, confirming that "Bennifer 2.0" was happening.
In July, J-Lo and Affleck tied the knot in a secret, low-key Las Vegas ceremony. A month later, the newlyweds celebrated their nuptials with a fabulous wedding weekend hosted in Georgia, sealing the deal finally!
Rodriguez Opens Up About His Potential As An 'Husband Material
Despite A-Rod expressing love for his ex and trying to keep his answer drama-free, it did not stop Wallace from throwing more complex questions. The renowned broadcaster wished to know if Rodriguez enjoys chasing women rather than settling down.
"Do you think that you’re good husband material? Or do you think, honestly, that you just like the chase?" Wallace asked, causing the retired athlete to take a good look at his life. Reminiscing about his 2013 Major League Baseball suspension for taking performance-enhancing drugs, the "Back in the Game" host discussed the growth he has experienced.
The "Back In The Game" show host noted that pre-suspension, his old self believed being a winner involved having "big contracts, home runs, nice cars, and women." However, post-suspension, the 47-year-old learned the importance of being a good friend, son, and father with great character, loyalty, and team-building skills.
Noting that his earlier years were not the best sides of him, the former baseball player believed his past helped create a better version of himself. The Manhattan native said, "In my 20s, early 30s, probably not the best... I think I'm gonna make a wonderful partner or husband and father post-suspension because of the lessons learned from my biggest mistakes."
A Look At The Former Yankees Player's Relationship History

It's no surprise that Wallace asked A-Rod if he was good husband material, given his dating history and his link to several female A-listers.
The retired baseball player was first married to Cynthia Scurtis. The pair were married for six years and welcomed two daughters before their 2008 separation.
Following his divorce, the 47-year-old became romantically linked to Madonna, but that was very short-lived. In 2017, "Real Housewives of New York City" star, Bethenny Frankel, confessed to going on two dates with the athlete in 2009. This occurred before Rodriguez's brief relationship with Kate Hudson.
A-Rod dated more powerful women such as Cameron Diaz, Torrie Wilson, and Anne Wojcicki before getting with Lopez. Following his split from the JLO Beauty founder, the former athlete was linked to fitness enthusiast Kathryne Padgett, but they seemingly ended things last month.
