Kate Hudson is missing her oldest son!
The Hollywood star is the proud mother of three wonderful children, a daughter named Rani alongside her older brothers Ryder and Bingham.
The actress adores her kids, who were born into three different relationships, with all her heart. This is why the 43-year-old found it hard to be away from her firstborn, who has ventured off to college.
Kate Hudson Says She Tends To Cry When Thinking About Her Oldest Son, Ryder
The Los Angeles native recently appeared on Access Hollywood to promote her new movie, "Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon." The TV personality dropped by virtually for the interview alongside the thriller's director, Ana Lily Amirpour.
The film is centered around Hudson's character, Bonnie Belle, a struggling single mother who befriends a mysterious young woman named Mona Lisa.
After discovering the lady has supernatural powers, Bella decides to use Mona Lisa as a quick way to make cash. However, this decision causes unexpected problems for the unlikely team.
Following their discussion about the movie, the interviewer was deterred off track to talking about the "Fool's Gold" star's son. The news anchor noted that mothers on the internet related to Hudson's post about Ryder leaving for college.
When the host asked if the 43-year-old could withstand the distance from her son, the Golden Globe Award winner admitted that she had difficulty discussing Ryder's absence.
"I am trying; it's hard to even talk about," the mother-of-three confessed, "I'll have a moment where I'll just start crying because something will just hit me that he's not here." Despite missing her baby boy, the Los Angeles native felt proud of the 18-year-old for getting into college and adjusting to life in the city. In the blonde beauty's words:
"He's having a blast, he's in the city, he's like ready, and that makes me so excited. I'm so excited for his future. When you see your kids thriving and feeling good in their skin, that's all I can ask for."
Nonetheless, the BAFTA Award winner noted that her feelings about her son's college life differed from the teenager's reaction. The phone call she recently had with Ryder was a perfect example of their mixed feelings.
Recalling the emotional moment, the "Raising Helen" actress explained that her son's happiness over the phone reminded her of the time she spent in college. Hudson noted that her son had the same open-mindedness for the future as she had in the past, a similarity that overwhelmed the 43-year-old to the point of tears.
As the mother cried, her youngest child Rani comforted the entertainer by asking if her mother was shedding "happy tears," to which the Hollywood veteran said yes.
Impressed by the little girl, the interviewer sang her praises and described the bundle of joy as an "emotionally intelligent little one." Pointing out that Rani's fourth birthday was coming up, the host wondered what the family planned for the celebrant.
The "Something Borrowed" star revealed that she and her fiancé Danny Fujikawa, with whom she shares Rani, planned on having a Princess parade bash for their daughter. Hudson shares her oldest son with her ex-husband Chris Robinson while her second son Bingham was born during her relationship with her ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy.
The Two-Time SAG Award Winner Was A Nervous Wreck During Her Son's Band Performance
Last month, The Blast reported that the Academy Award nominee was a nervous “stage mom” while supporting her son Ryder and his rock band. The 43-year-old documented the performance at The Mint in Los Angeles on Instagram, sharing a series of pictures from the event.
The first snap captured Hudson and a friend biting their nails as they awaited the teenager's show. The Fabletics fitness co-founder traded her usual glam for a more subtle look. The "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" actress donned a carton brown jacket over a black tee and jeans, completing the causal theme with chunky rings.
In another picture, the Satellite Award winner posed beside her step-father, Kurt Russell, who turned up to support his grandson. Additionally, the proud mother shared a photo of Ryder rocking out on his guitar.
The "Pretty Happy" author's son followed in his father's footsteps, Robinson, who serves as the frontman for The Black Crowes band.
