Katharine McPhee & David Foster's Son Is Following in His Parents' Musical Footsteps

The apple did not fall far from the tree for Katharine McPhee and David Foster!

The musically-gifted parents are raising a mini music man, their adorable son Rennie. As for the proof, the proud mother has shown off the toddler's talents via social media posts.

In a recent Instagram Story update, the "American Idol" alum shared a series of posts that proved the little angel had already followed in his parent's footsteps.

On September 28, the TV personality gave fans a peek at her son's fun time while exploring the world of music. In a video, the 38-year-old zoomed in on Rennie banging away at his father's studio.

The adorable moment came after the mother-of-one enjoyed a self-love session at the famous Biologique Recherche. The entertainer did not have to travel to Paris to experience the luxury French skincare brand, given their equally reputable center in the USA.

Following her personalized dermo-cosmetic treatments, the Los Angeles native picked up her son for a date with their "main squeeze." The caption over the clip read, "Then I picked up Rennie, and we went to see our main squeeze @davidfoster back in the studio… and Rennie still banging on the drums. ?? at all times."

The "Scorpion" star's playful dismay fitted perfectly with the situation as the little drummer boy happily flaunted his budding musical talent without paying attention to the adults hard at work.

While Rennie's father and his co-workers worked their magic at the recording studio, the toddler banged away behind them to the amusement of his mother, who filmed the hilarious scene.

In a second clip, McPhee gave her husband the spotlight, praising him for being a "cool" record producer. as the 72-year-old worked, soulful music blessed the ears in the background. The Hollywood sensation revealed in the video's caption that the sounds belonged to the Grammy award-winning Jazzman Chris Botti, whom the 38-year-old tagged in her post.

For her final post, the brunette made an appearance alongside her son. In the picture, the mini musician sat on his mother's lap for support while exploring the studio's complete drum set.

The little Rock N' Roll star wannabe donned a black t-shirt designed with the Rolling Stones band's name and signature hot lips logo. The fan-boy outfit was paired with green shorts while Mcphee paraded her toned figure in a lumber jacket, crop top, and three-quarter tights.

Aside from Rennie's budding musical talents, The Blast reported that the toddler's parents encouraged his growth in other fields, like sports. The "Country Comfort" star shared the update in July when she uploaded a picture of Rennie exploring a golf course on her Instagram Story.

For the day out, the adorable boy wore grey Mickey Mouse shorts, a white-and-black shirt, and white sneakers. Although his face was obscured in the snap, the toddler still looked cute with his blonde hair and tiny frame.

While checking out the golf course, Mcphee captured Rennie holding a flag pole as he curiously stared down into a golf hole. The sweet shot was captioned, "Start 'em young."

Earlier this year, The Blast discussed the amazing birthday party Mcphee and her husband organized for their little bundle of joy. In honor of Rennie's first year, the proud parents threw a safari-themed bash.

"The Tiger Rising" actress shared several photos from the party on Instagram alongside a heartwarming tribute to her son. The parents spared no expense for the luxurious occasion, which featured unique designs.

There was a large play area with several stuffed animals, including giraffes and lions. A stuffed zebra stood alone inside a ball pit filled with blue and white balls. Across the room were extravagant balloon displays while green foliage adorned the tables and chairs.

In her tribute, Mcphee wished her baby boy a happy birthday before reflecting on how amazing motherhood has been. The TV personality wrote,"Where does the time go? I know you've heard this before but being a mommy is the greatest fricken thing in the world."

The 38-year-old and her husband welcomed their bundle of joy last February, two years after the couple tied the knot in June 2019.
