Mod Sun Wishes 'Soulmate' Avril Lavigne Happy Birthday In Moving Tribute

Mod Sun is doting on his fiancée as she takes another trip around the sun! The "Flames" singer composed a beautiful poem to celebrate his lover Avril Lavigne on her 38th birthday.

Derek Ryan Smith, professionally known as Mod Sun, got engaged to Lavigne in March this year. The duo first met in 2021 and have since been in a romantic relationship. 

The American rapper took to his Instagram to share the love letter he had written for Lavigne alongside pictures of the both of them. The first slide of pictures showed the couple kissing lightly, while the second frame saw the cute couple sporting matching pink outfits.

Sun bent to kiss a sitting Lavigne on her forehead while they both held on to rose flower stalks. In the accompanying caption, the "Karma" singer sweetly poured out his heart.

"When I close my eyes, it's you I see. You're the reason why my heart still beats. My love is yours eternally. I live inside each memory," he wrote, "Your eyes light up the darkest night. Your kiss inspires the words I write. Your touch is all I need in life. Someday soon, you'll be my wife."

He continued, showering praises on the love of his life, writing, "You changed the world Avril never forget. You are that mother f**king princess. You make me better, I must confess. I'd whisper, 'I love you' with my last breath. There's so many words I wanna say. To my stunningly gorgeous fiancée, I'll leave it at this til we run away…. Baby, I wish you a happy birthday."

Sun concluded the post, adoring Lavigne and calling her his "soulmate." He expressed his undying love for the "Complicated" singer, writing, "...to say I'm lucky to share a life with you is the understatement of the century…not to mention you are also the most beautiful woman that's ever walked this earth ? in two years together we have made so many memories but it's just the start. Let's run away my love. Forever yours, mod."

The lovely post warmed a lot of hearts as fans and celebrities gushed about their love in the comment section and also wished Lavigne a happy birthday. A fan commented, "Omg! I will cry, Mod!!! ❤️So much love for you both! Happy bday queen, love you forever!!!"

For Mod & Lavigne, the beginning of this year brought so many surprises, including their engagement. In March, the lovebirds took their relationship to another level.

Per The Blast, the "I'm With You" songstress announced her engagement to the hip-hop star after weeks of speculation. She posted snaps of the proposal, which took place in Paris, on her Instagram

In her caption, she wrote, "Oui! Je t’aime pour toujours ???Dimanche. 27. Mars. 2022," which translates to "Yes, I love you forever. Sunday. 27. March. 2022."

Sun commented on the post, "I love u so much! Forever n' ever, my angel." Fans were blown away by the news and congratulated the couple in the comments.

This year was indeed a good year for the “Bite Me ” singer as she also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on August 31.

The eight-time Grammy nominee celebrated the win with a thrilling post on Instagram, sharing a series of photos from the event with an inspiring caption that read, "Look, mom, I got a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame ⭐️."

Several people, one of which was her fiancé, congratulated her on this win and expressed how much she deserved it. Sun gushed, "A moment that lives on forever. So absolutely proud of u + this is so deserved! Congrats my love."
