Avril Lavigne Confirms Her Engagement To Mod Sun

It seems that Avril Lavigne is definitely engaged! After weeks of speculation, the “Love Sux” singer confirmed the news herself on Instagram.
Although TMZ noted that she wasn’t wearing the ring when she hit the Grammy’s red carpet last Sunday, she was seen wearing a giant diamond ring on that finger when she arrived at a studio in Los Angeles earlier this week.
The couple wrote the song “Flames” and appeared in the music video together back in January 2021 and made their relationship official when they attended the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards together. Mod Sun even tattooed the “Girlfriend” singer’s name on his neck, so things were already pretty serious before he popped the question!
Avril Lavigne Reveals Mod Sun Popped The Question On March 27!
On Thursday morning, the “Sk8ter Boy” singer posted several snaps of the pair to her Instagram page.
“Oui! Je t’aime pour toujours ???Dimanche. 27. Mars. 2022,” she wrote in the caption. The message is French for “Yes I love you forever. Sunday. 27. March. 2022.” It’s not clear why Avril waited a week in order to announce the engagement but plenty of fans and famous friends were excited to celebrate the news!

Mod Sun also shared a sweet caption on Instagram along with several more shots of the happy couple.
“The day we met I knew you were the one,” he wrote. “Together forever til our days are done. I had a dream where I proposed in paris. I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes. You’re too beautiful for my words to describe. I grabbed your hand + took one last breath… I said ‘will you marry me?’ + she said ‘yes’.”

Avril Lavigne May Have Finally Found The One!
This is not the “Love It When You Hate Me” singer’s first marriage. She was married to Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2010. She married Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger in 2013 but they divorced in 2015.
Mod Sun, born Derek Ryan Smith, has never been married before. He performed in the band Four Letter Lie from 2004 to 2009. He also performed with Scary Kids Scaring Kids from 2009 to 2010. Mod Sun is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and rapper. He has released four studio albums, three EPs, six mixtapes, and 31 singles.
Now that they’re officially engaged, fans can’t wait to when they’ll tie the knot… and whether or not they'll create a whole album together!
