Grimes is PISSED about rising house prices and cost of living in Texas.
The musical artist admitted she cannot live in her Austin, TX. home with her two kids without the financial help of her ex, Elon Musk.
Earlier this week, Grimes tweeted out a Change.org petition to reduce housing costs in Austin.
Grimes Can't Afford Her Home Without Assistance From Elon Musk
“My fellow Texans! Petitions can feel useless but I guarantee local politicians are taking these seriously,” she pleaded. “Plz sign to reduce housing costs in Austin. There’s effective legislation on the table here but we need public support.”
One of her followers immediately commented with backlash.
“Grimes you are set, your opinion on ‘the housing market’ is invalid,” they replied.
Not one to back down, the mother-of-two shot back.
“First of all I couldn’t afford to buy a house that fits my kids in Austin atm without help from their dad which is INSANE cuz I’m a p successful artist. Secondly, these aren’t my opinions, I’ve just agreed to help out some actual experts/policy makers,” Grimes explained. “The over-regulation in Cali is anti innovation. Tx is pro innovation, (they let you blow up rockets for example haha). But if we want to move our. Most innovative companies to Tx we owe it to the citizens to protect their living Standards.”

The Twitter user then responded with, “That’s what I’m meaning, their dad will help get it done. You’re set.”
“I’m not worried about me, I’m worried about the citizens of Austin,” Grimes continued. “I’m using myself as an example of the extreme wealth needed to live comfortably here which wasn’t the case in the near past.”

Others got in on the debate and responded, “I’m bored” and “Take a lap.”
Grimes and Musk broke up earlier this year after welcoming their second child together.
The singer revealed the on-again, off-again couple welcomed a daughter together in December 2021.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, the mother-of-two revealed that she was not pregnant with a child, but rather, welcomed their baby, Y, via surrogate.
They also have a 22-month-old son, X Æ A-Xii, together.
Prior to this bombshell interview, Musk and Grimes were seemingly on the outs with their relationship, but it seems between the decision to have a second child and her interview, they rekindled.
Grimes set the record straight about her relationship status with the TESLA CEO.
In a tweet published on Thursday, March 10, Grimes told fans, “Me and E have broken up *again* since the writing of this article haha, but he’s my best friend and the love of my life, and my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now, I think Devin wrote that part of the story rly well. Sique - peace out.”

In the event you were curious what the heck she meant by “the mission,” she clarified it in another tweet.
“PS ‘The Mission’ is Sustainable energy, making humanity a multiplanetary species and the preservation of consciousness,” Grimes wrote.
The couple called initially called it quits in September 2021 after dating for three years.
Grimes also shared that she and Musk “live in separate houses” and that they are “best friends.”
She continued, “We see each other all the time…. We just have our own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand it.”
As to whether they’re happy, Grimes said, “This is the best it’s ever been…. We just need to be free.”
She also said that she and the tech billionaire are looking into growing their family, saying, “We’ve always wanted at least three or four.”
