Mackenzie McKee has been earning some cash – and, it would appear, some backlash. The “Teen Mom OG” star is arguably the fittest member of the MTV franchise – alongside running her Body By Mac workout plan, Mackenzie is both a trainer and a part-time bikini model, with the summer of 2019 seeing the Oklahoma native compete in her swimwear.
Mackenzie has posted a new promotional photo for weight-loss brand BoomBod. As The Blast has previously reported, such posts are likely earning Mackenzie anywhere between $2,673 and $4,455, although these are just estimates.
Mackenzie’s photo was a simple selfie. It showed the mom of three snapping herself in her home and rocking a figure-flaunting wardrobe. Mackenzie’s rock-hard abs were on show via her tight spandex sports bra, with the dark upper matched by slightly lighter cropped leggings.
Mackenzie’s ripped arms and shapely legs were also on show – of course, the product being promoted made a major appearance as Mackenzie posed holding a Boom Bod book. A caption from McKee abided by Instagram’s required #ad.
ad she’s backkkkkk baby ? Between hard work in the gym and my @boombod program i’m feeling soooo much better ☺️ these shots are definitely what my routine has been missing lately, and they’re already proving why I keep bringing them back – no cravings, no problem! Been wanting to try them? They’re keto friendly, they have vegan / vegetarian friendly flavors, AND buy one get one free site wide!” Mackenzie captioned her shot.
While likes did come in – over 1,800 in 17 hours – so did a fanbase that appeared suspicious of the product.
Off-the-bat, responses weren’t 100% negative. One user told Mackenzie that they had just completed “day 2” of the challenge.
Others weren’t so keen.
“You girls really have to stop pushing this stuff ??♀️,” one user wrote.
“Don’t buy this stuff. It’s a con and not healthy at all. They’re basically a laxative,” another said.
“These are so bad for you! They are trying to ban them in the UK. You lose weight as it’s basically a laxative” was a third comment.
Mackenzie isn’t the only “Teen Mom” to have been blasted over weight-loss promos. Leah Messer had fans unfollowing her after her promo for Flat Tummy App.
Influencer Marketing Hub is a handy tool that estimates pay per post based on Instagram following. While the tool doesn’t 100% confirm earnings, it’s generally perceived to be a reasonably-accurate indicator.
Mackenzie has gained approximately 10,000 followers since her 896k following earlier this month.
On the plus side, some kind remarks were left. Mackenzie was told how fit she looks, with some fans likening her to sadly-deceased mom Angie Douthit – the star’s mother tragically lost her battle against lung cancer at the end of 2019
