The drama has intensified for Amber Portwood! After reporting her fiancé Gary Wayt missing, authorities found him in a surprising location — far away from where he was reported missing. 

The new information on Gary Wayt's whereabouts comes less than a day after Amber Portwood assured fans she had no involvement in his disappearance.

Amber Portwood's Fiancé Spotted In Oklahoma

The couple, who reside together in Indianapolis, Indiana, is at the center of the still-active investigation. The mystery deepened as it was unclear why Portwood and her beau were in North Carolina when Wayt allegedly disappeared. 

According to an incident report, the 39-year-old was last seen at a hotel on June 9. North Carolina's Bryson City Police Department's representative revealed:

"Gary was seen on camera in a Verizon store in Oklahoma. It seems he headed toward New Mexico when the tag readers picked up his car there." 

In the statement to ET, the spokesperson added, "We have information he was in New Mexico at one point. Gary will stay as a missing person until he contacts Bryson City Police or contacts another law enforcement officer."

Amber Portwood Opened Up About Fiancé's Disappearance 

While the alleged video of Wayt might comfort Portwood a bit, the reality TV star had earlier revealed the emotional toll of his disappearance.

The Blast reported that Portwood candidly discussed how she has been coping with the unsettling ordeal on Elle Bee's YouTube channel. 

"This is a huge deal, his parents; everybody is very worried. I am worried," the distraught TV personality shared. 

She emphasized that she had no involvement in Wayt's sudden disappearance, stating, "There was not a big blowout fight or anything like that, OK? He is a missing person right now."

Fighting back tears, Portwood conveyed her fears about Wayt's unfamiliarity with the terrain they were in at the time.

"We are in the mountains. He has never driven in the mountains. We are very scared right now," she said, highlighting the anxiety she was experiencing.

The 'Teen Mom' Star Insists On Amicable Relationship With Fiancé Gary Wayt

During her conversation with Elle Bee, Portwood insisted on her innocence in the sudden disappearance of her fiancé. 

The star aimed to dispel the negative perceptions concerning a past incident where she was accused of attacking an ex-boyfriend with a machete. 

"I am not what people have been saying about me all of these years," she declared. While acknowledging her past behavior, Portwood also pointed out her growth.

"I changed a long time ago, OK, you have to understand this.Please listen to what I am saying; I am an honest person to you guys," she pleaded.

Portwood continued to highlight the positive nature of her relationship with Wayt, stating, "We have not had explosive fights. We are very in love. This man asked me to be with him, this man then asked me to marry him."

She further assured, "I have not touched this man in any horrible way. He does not touch me in any horrible way. We do not yell at each other… Please understand this, people change."

Portwood Lost Custody Of Her Children To Ex-Partner Andrew Glennon

Portwood has faced significant personal challenges, especially following the loss of custody of her children. This change has been a pivotal moment in her journey of self-improvement.

In 2022, after a prolonged three-year court battle, an Indiana judge awarded Glennon sole legal and primary custody of their son James. 

The Blast shared that Portwood was granted overnight visits with James, which were scheduled to occur monthly and alternate between California and Indiana.

As part of the custody arrangement, Glennon is required to "seek out and consider the mother's opinion before making any major decisions relating to the child's medical treatment, education, and religion."

For those unfamiliar with Portwood's story, James is her second child. She also has a daughter, Leah Shirley, with ex-Gary Shirley. However, due to past legal troubles, Gary was granted full custody of Leah, while Portwood retained visitation rights.

Amber Portwood Vowed To Keep Fighting

After the protracted custody battle, Glennon was veryelated about winning full custody of his son James. 

The 40-year-old was so happy that he expressed his satisfaction, saying, "We endured the nightmare. Now we get to live the dream."

In a sharp contrast, Portwood cut a grim picture as she explained the efforts she had made to improve her life and her relationships with her children.

The star emphasized the importance of redemption before encouraging others facing similar challenges to persevere. 

Portwood then concluded her statement with a resolute promise: "I'll never stop fighting for my children who I love more than anything."
