Katherine Schwarzenegger, daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and wife of actor Chris Pratt, has released a book on the subject of forgiveness.

While doing press for her book, the 30-year-old daughter of “The Governator” admitted that she was "struggling with forgiveness in [her] own life" and writing this book was a way in which she helped herself, in some cases in ways she didn’t could have expect.

"I was so blessed to have people open up to me in a way that was such a huge gift and will be a gift to everyone who reads this book," the author said.

Schwarzenegger made her comments while talking on Fox & Friends and she went on to say that she had spoken with others who have publicly spoken about forgiveness, such as Elizabeth Smart and Nicole Brown Simpson's sister about their forgiveness journeys. According to the young author, everyone's process is somewhat different and that there is no "right or wrong way" to learn to forgive.

According to Schwarzenegger, having those interviews as a resource was invaluable in compiling what she hopes is a roadmap for others to help them find and give forgiveness.

"I have a really good collection of people who have practiced forgiveness and struggled with forgiveness in different ways," she added. "Forgiveness is such a unique topic. It was important to me to have a good variety of different experiences."

Schwarzenegger also touched on the issue of faith during her interview, saying that it came up on more than one occasion while researching the issue of forgiveness. According to the author, it’s something that she and husband Chris Pratt connected on when they were getting to know each other.

"[Faith] is a huge part of our relationship and also just a huge part of our lives," Schwarzenegger said of her relationship with Pratt.

"I grew up with faith being a huge part of my family's life as well. [Faith] is a huge part of the forgiveness process and healing process in life in general so if you are able to have [faith] to rely on and lean on it's a great gift."

"The biggest common denominator throughout all the interviews in this book is really that forgiveness is a gift you give yourself," she said. "It's not about another person. It's about you taking your power back."
