Last week, Nicki Minaj's husband Kenneth Petty was arrested after failing to register himself as a sex offender for the state of California. He was already registered in his home state of New York. The charge dates back to 1995 when he was hit with attempted rape. Both he and the girl he was sexually active with were underage at the time as well.

Petty was originally arrested for failing to register himself in California in November of last year at a traffic stop in Beverly Hills. He was later released on $20,000 bond.

Petty is now in California's data base regarding their list of sexual offenders. In court, prosecutors wanted him to be on house arrest but an ankle monitor and curfew was settled on. He is still facing 10 years in prison though. He pleaded not guilty and his restrictions now include giving up his passport and not being around any drugs or alcohol.

One celebrity who isn't feeling Minaj being with someone like Petty is Wendy Williams. Today, she appeared on her talk show and heavily criticized Petty for his actions.

Williams believes that Minaj marrying Petty and still being with him is a move that hurts her legacy and brand. She did this towards the end of her show to use the remaining time she had to address this crazy situation.

“I’m gonna lead with this: You should have never married him ’cause now you ruined everything about what your brand could be — again,” said Williams. “You’re never gonna stand a chance when you’re with a man who pulls a knife at rape-point. A molester. A registered sex offender, who wasn’t even registered. "

"You’re never going to stand a chance with John Q. Public because there’s only one thing worse than touching children and pulling knives and that’s murder. By the way, he did go to jail for manslaughter.”

The manslaughter case that Williams mentioned is Petty shooting and killing a man named Lamont Robinson back in April of 2002. This went down in his hometown of Queens, NY where he hopped out of a car, approached Robinson, and shot him in the stomach three times.

In January, Petty and Minaj's ex-boyfriend Meek Mill almost got into a fight at a high-end Beverly Hills store. Minaj and Meek dated over four years ago.

Two weeks after this altercation, Minaj and Meek took shots at each other on Twitter. Minaj claimed that Meek beat up his own sister in front of her while the Philly rapper brought up her brother going to jail for raping a minor and is serving 25 to life is prison. Meek also denied beating up his sister and mentioned how he won't try to beef with her husband. He recently said on Twitter though how he won't be happy about Petty doing 10 years in prison if it happens.
