“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Lauri Peterson’s son Josh Waring has been released from jail after reaching a plea deal.

According to reports, Waring entered a guilty plea to felony counts of evading a peace officer, assault with a firearm, hit-and-run with property damage and battery. He entered the plea after hashing out a deal with prosecutors.

Back in 2016, Waring was arrested after allegedly shooting at a man outside a sober living home. The alleged victim survived the gunshot. He has been behind bars in an Orange County jail since 2016.

Waring originally plead not guilty to the charges. The criminal case dragged on for years, while Waring was held on $1 million-dollar bond.

During the criminal case, Waring fought unsuccessfully to get bond multiple times. He pleaded to be let out while he awaited trial. Waring even asked if he could go to drug rehab.

Lauri Peterson recently spoke out accusing jail officials of mistreating her son. At one point, Waring was involved in a fight with a fellow inmate. Lauri said, “I am horrified, sad, brokenhearted, disgusted and appalled by my son’s condition! This situation should have never been allowed to happened as Josh is SEP, which is that he is never allowed contact with anyone! He is in a module that everyone in it is protective custody for varying reasons and never allowed to have contact with each other or anyone.”

She added, “I’m tired of hearing that it was a ‘mistake’ that they let inmates in to kill Josh. I do not believe any longer that these are simply mistakes.”

While behind bars, Waring took issue with prosecutors accusing them of illegally obtaining recordings of his jail conversations. He filed a claim against the County of Orange demanding $1.4 million in damages. Waring accused the officials of unlawfully recording his phone calls.

Waring’s mother Lauri Peterson appeared on RHOC from season 1 until season 4, when she left the show to deal with Josh’s problems.
