Previews from the upcoming episode of "Survivor: Winners at War" had some surprises when the tribe swap caused Michele Fitzgerald, winner of "Survivor: Kaôh Rōng," the show's 32nd season, to moan over having to be on an island with her ex-boyfriend.

Fans immediately turned detective to determine who the mystery man was.

Turns out, Fitzgerald had dated Wendell Holland, winner of "Survivor: Ghost Island," the show's 38th season.

We don't know much about the relationship between the two, but according to sources, they dated for a short time after Holland's "Ghost Island" win.

"Boston Rob" Mariano (who made his first "Survivor" appearance on "Survivor: Marquesas") and Amber Brkich Mariano (who first appeared on "Survivor: The Australian Outback") are the only married couple to meet on the show. They played together on "Survivor: All-Stars," and became the final two. Before the winner was announced - Brkich ultimately took the prize - Mariano proposed. The two have been married since 2005 and have four daughters. "Survivor: Winners at War" is the second time they've played "Survivor" together, although they have competed on "The Amazing Race" twice.

Prior to the show, the cast members of "Survivor: Winners at War," many of whom are friends outside of the game, talked about the relationships they had with previous players, although neither Holland nor Fitzgerald admitted to dating at the time.

"Michele Fitzgerald is a friend of mine," Holland said in a pre-show interview with Xfinity.

Fitzgerald also failed to offer any information of substance, and said, "I have previous relationships with some people, based on winning at a similar time. Some of the most recent winners have been male … I have relationships with Wendell, Adam, Nick … I know them all."

" I don't know how solid those foundations are, I haven't solidified anything," she told Xfinity prior to the game. "But, going in it's nice to see a friendly face."

We will have to wait a week to see how nice it will be for Fitzgerald to see Holland's friendly face, or to find out whether they use their former relationship to start a new alliance.

As for their relationship, the two interacted a bit on Twitter, and appeared to meet at a party, based on Holland's Instagram feed, in which the two initially appeared together with other "Survivor" players, then later sat next to each other at a fund-raising event.

Making the reveal could suggest that the two have a pre-game alliance, or that the two will end up on opposing alliances if the relationship ended on a bad note.

Prior to appearing on "Survivor," Fitzgerald was a travel consultant from New Jersey. She won the show's 32nd season, "Survivor: Kaôh Rōng," which initially split players into teams based on their attributes: "Brains vs. Brain vs. Beauty. Fitzgerald was on the Beauty tribe.
