The defamation trial seen around the world took place in Fairfax, Virginia and it featured two very note-worthy celebrities: “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor Johnny Depp and his ex-wife, “Aquaman” actress Amber Heard. Depp who had initially sued Heard for $50 million dollars due to a 2018 Washington Post op-ed where Heard declared herself a survivor of domestic violence never mentioned Depp by name in the piece, but the assumptions were there enough to where Depp made the case that he lost out on many roles due to the accusations.

The jury ended up agreeing with Depp and his team and awarded him $10 million dollars in compensatory damages and $5 million dollars in punitive damages. That $5 million was later reduced to $350,000 dollars, the maximum allowed under Virginia state law.

But the clear winner was Depp and throughout the trial, Depp's lawyer, Camille Vasquez became an instant internet sensation. Such a sensation that she will likely have tons of TV gigs coming down the line and more on her plate as the weeks, months and years come about. When initially asked by The Blast EXCLUSIVELY about her thoughts of a movie being made on the Depp Heard case, and someone to actually play her on screen, she at first laughed but added, "It is surreal. It is surreal what has happened to my life and to some of my colleagues' lives, it is surreal. You know, but what a thrill it has been!" The incredibly gifted lawyer is only 37, having graduated from the Southwestern Law School in 2010 and now on top of her day job, she has a new permanent job as she is now a celebrity.

She realized that she was becoming noticed and a celebrity for the first time when she saw people looking at her as more than just a lawyer as she told The Blast, "It was actually during the trial, at one point it was the weekend and I went to a Starbucks that was near the hotel we were staying at, and this young sweet girl with braces called out my name. Because I just ordered my coffee ahead of time. And then she looked at me and got wide-eyed, opened her mouth, and was like, ''Oh my God!' You're Johnny Depp's lawyer!" Then that is when I was like, ''Oh God, what has happened? What happened to my life all of the sudden."

And when The Blast continued our EXCLUSIVE interview with Vasquez at the Brent Shapiro Foundation charity event on September 10th, she spoke about these future opportunities with a smile on her face a mile wide. saying, "Look... Though she may have not committed to anything specifically, she does know that her work and future work in the courtroom will be surrounded by purpose, and that hasn't left her as she has really taken in the magnitude of what she does for a living, saving people's lives and livelihoods and she is very aware what her role is and can be and has been for everyone including Depp who she has worked to help to say about her job, "I think it just inspires me to do a really good job for them and these people. I am their voice in the courtroom and I take that really, that very seriously. That is very important to me."

And by the look of things and whatever the future may hold in entertainment. It looks like a bright future is ahead.
