An autopsy has confirmed that country music star Luke Bell died from an accidental fentanyl overdose after going missing for several days. The autopsy report also revealed that Bell's unresponsive body was found by a passerby, who also noticed drug paraphernalia around him.

The singer's manager, Brian Buchanan, recently revealed, per reports, that Bell had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, struggled with the condition, and regularly disappeared for days. Bell's family also recently released a statement confirming that he had suffered from mental health issues.

His family also praised Bell for being a gentle and wonderful person during his life and thanked all his friends and fans for their support during his life and after his death. As the statement concluded, they also asked for privacy as they grieved the loss.

Luke Bell Died From An Accidental Overdose

According to a report by ABC 9 KGUN, an autopsy report from the medical examiner's office in Pima County has confirmed that Bell's cause of death is an accidental overdose of fentanyl. The autopsy report also revealed more details of Bell's death, including that a passerby found his unresponsive body and noticed some drug paraphernalia around him.

The report also stated that Bell had suffered from arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. According to The Sun, the "Sometime" singer had a blood alcohol level of 0.076 at the time of his death, which is very high. The combination of alcohol and drugs in his system was eventually too much for his body to handle.

Bell's friend and fellow musician, Matt Kinman, had previously confirmed to Saving Country Music that Bell had died on August 29th. The Tucson Police Department later confirmed per NYP that the "Where Ya Been?" crooner had been found close to the location of his disappearance.

Luke Bell Battled With His Mental Health

According to a report from Saving Country Music, Bell's doctors diagnosed him with bipolar disorder, and his mental health had been steadily declining over the months before his death. Buchanan, his manager, recently spoke to TMZ about Bell's death and confirmed that he had suffered from mental health problems.

He said, "Luke fought this as hard as he could, but the disease got the better of him. When he was beating the disease, he was the sweetest and most generous guy. He's found peace now and there's some comfort." Buchanan explained that Bell was never able to find a solution or treatment that worked and had disappeared several times in the past.

However, each time Bell disappeared, they were able to track him down and get him under control. Buchanan also said that Bell had been prescribed medication, but he couldn't confirm that the singer was taking his meds around the time he went missing.

His Family Released A Statement

Bell's family recently released an exclusive statement to Peopleabout the singer's death. In it, his relatives spoke about how they'd lost their "beloved son, brother, and friend" and were extremely heartbroken. They confirmed that Bell had suffered from mental illness and said it worsened after his father died in 2015.

The statement also read, "Luke was supported through his disease by a community of loving family and friends. Despite this, he was unable to receive the help he needed to ease his pain."

Bell's family then sent love out to "the millions of people affected by mental illness who, like us, understand the devastating disappointment of a system that consistently fails to provide caring solutions to those who suffer."

In the latter part of the statement, Bell's family praised the later singer for having a "gentle heart, a wanderer's spirit and a musical gift that he was fortunate to share with us and the world." They also thanked his fans and friends for embracing Bell and his music while he was alive.

They wrote, "We would like to thank all of Luke's fans, friends and family who have been sharing stories and photos of happy times with him. As we navigate our heartbreak we respectfully ask for privacy to allow us room to grieve and honor his memory. Our only comfort comes in the fact that our Luke is finally free and at peace."
