She called out the media on Twitter for their failure to report on the Fiona effects while consistently reporting on Queen Elizabeth II’s death. She wrote

"Folks, I respect the Queen as much as the next person. I offer my condolences to the Brits and all who loved her. But can I please get some news and footage of the effects of Fiona in Puerto Rico? For those who need reminding, they are American citizens in distress."

In the comment section of the post, people also vented their grievances with the persistent media coverage on the Queen's passing.

One person commented, "The coverage of not our queen is over the top ridiculous. And the news anchors asking insipid questions trying to make it interesting are failing miserably. I gathered this by walking in front of a TV and quickly walking away.”

Another person added, "3.1 million Americans at risk. They had 30 inches of rain in the span of a few hours, leaving an entire island without electricity or running water creating a massive humanitarian crisis, but yeah, an already dead former monarch with a largely ceremonial station is more important."

About Hurricane Fiona's Impact Across Puerto Rico

According to Accuweather, not less than four fatalities have been attributed to Fiona. Heavy rainfall poured out by the hurricane persistently continued across Puerto Rico as well as the Dominican Republic causing destructive flooding.

As the pouring continued, the flood water rose, submerging cars, first-floor apartments, and even the airport runways. All covered in brown water.

The entire island experienced a power outage for more than 24 hours. Although some remote areas received light later, almost 1.3 million customers remained without light in the early hours of Tuesday morning. This blackout was responsible for one of the deaths across the island. It was reported that a 70-year-old man died when he attempted to refill a running generator with gasoline, setting it on fire.

Another 58-year-old man died when he was dragged away by an overflowing La Plata river behind his house in Comerio.

In addition to the already reported deaths, officials in the Dominican Republic told the local media that a man in his 60’s died when a tree fell on him in Nagua. This totals four fatalities resulting from Hurricane Fiona.

LUMA energy, the private company in charge of the transmission and distribution of electricity in Puerto, mentioned that total restoration of power could possibly take place because of the magnitude and scope of the blackout.  As of Tuesday morning, power had been restored to about 200,000 customers, including hospitals.

The economic impact Fiona would have on the country is not to be neglected. Accuweather's founder, Dr. Joel N. Myers, estimated Fiona would have a $10 billion economic impact on the country and can be likened to a severe recession.

"The GDP of Puerto Rico is about $103 billion per year," said Myers. "An economic impact of around $10 billion is slightly less than 10 percent of the GDP, but, significantly, it is equivalent to a severe recession."

Howard Stern Has Had Enough of Queen Elizabeth II’s Death

Navarro isn’t the only person that wants the US media to stop the continuous coverage of Her Majesty's passing.

Earlier, The Blast reported that Howard Stern had seen enough of the coverage of the monarch's death. The host went on to rant in a segment of his talk show, bashing the US media for their continuous coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

In his unabashed opinion, he doesn’t get why the US media is obsessed with covering the news as America is not operating a monarchical system.
