Hollywood star Margot Robbie recently revealed during an appearance on "The Tonight Show," that she and “Barbie” co-star Ryan Gosling were mortified after photos of them filming the movie went viral on social media. The duo was photographed and filmed in various outfits from the movie, which is highly anticipated.

Robbie also explained that she wasn’t prepared for the crowds at the location or the attention on social media. The actress said she knew they’d obviously stand out in their bright and colorful outfits but that the crowds and attention were overwhelming.

Fans got better pictures of Robbie and Gosling in character when Warner Bros. released official character shoots earlier this year. The film is highly anticipated and will premiere in July 2023. It also stars Simu Liu, Emma Mackey, Will Ferrel, and Kate McKinnon.

During her appearance on "The Tonight Show," (per E!News)Robbie spoke to host Jimmy Fallon and revealed that she and Gosling were extremely embarrassed after the photos of them filming “Barbie” trended on social media. They wore several outfits in the photos, including matching neon rollerblading and cowboy outfits.

The “Suicide Squad actress looked at some of the pictures with Fallon and said, “I can’t tell you how mortified we were, by the way,” She continued, “We look like we’re like laughing, having fun, but dying on the inside. I was like, ‘This is the most humiliating moment of my life.’”

Gosling also reacted to the attention shortly after the photos went viral. At the premiere of his Netflix film “The Gray Man,” the actor spoke to People and shared his reaction to the viral photos and attention on the film.

He said, “We’ve been having so much fun making this movie and it felt nice to see everyone else start having as much fun as we are. I can’t wait for the film to come out and for that to continue.”

She Didn’t Expect The Attention

Robbie and Gosling were filming some scenes for the movie when the paparazzi and many fans took photos of them and posted them on Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram. During her conversation with Fallon, the “I, Tonya” star explained that she only expected some paparazzi and small crowds.

Robbie admitted that she knew they did “stand out a little in those outfits” but didn’t think interest in filming would be so high at the location and on social media. She said, “I knew there would be a little bit of attention and probably some photos would get out there but not like it did. It was, like, mad. It was, like, hundreds of people watching.”

The Studio Has Released Shots Of Margot Robbie And Ryan Gosling In Character

Fans got to see better pictures of Robbie and Gosling as Barbie and Ken in the official character shoots Warner Bros released to fans. On April 26th, the studio tweeted a photo of Robbie in character sitting in the iconic Barbie hot pink convertible.

In the photo, Robbie smiled brightly as she wore a blue and white top and matching head and arm accessories. Two months later, in June, the studio finally released the sneak peek of Gosling in character.

His photos showed the actor dressed in a signature Ken outfit, with blonde hair and a denim outfit that showed off his sculpted abs. One interesting detail of the shoot was the “Ken” customized boxers peeking out of Gosling’s jeans.

The 'Barbie' Movie Is Highly Anticipated

“Barbie” is scheduled to premiere in cinemas on July 21st, 2023, and there’s high anticipation for the film. Asides from Robbie and Gosling, the movie also stars Simu Liu, Will Ferrell, Emma Mackey, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Hari Nef, and America Ferrera.

Greta Gerwig is the film’s director and is also credited as a co-writer of the script alongside Noah Baumbach. Details of the plot have remained a tight secret, so fans will have to wait until the studio releases more teasers.

“Barbie” is also the first live-action film about the doll, despite there being many animated adaptations. It’s also the first film collaboration between Warner Bros and Mattel’s new film division, Mattel Films.
