Although the cast of "High School Musical" has not been together since the third film, “High School Musical 3,” which debuted in 2008, 37-year-old actress Ashley Tisdale admits they are all still in touch.

"Obviously we are all in different places of life, but the thing about what's so great about every single one of them is that you can text them and be like 'hey, I haven't talked to you in so long'," Tisdale said on the Chicks in the Office podcast.

"Lucas [Grabiel] was just texting me like a couple of weeks ago, and we were just chatting, and it's like time hasn't passed," the "High School Musical" star continued.

Will There Ever Be a "High School Musical" Reunion?

The cast has not been together since 2018 when the third film, “High School Musical 3,” debuted, however, original cast member Corbin Bleu recently returned to the franchise in the third season of the Disney+ original series, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,”

Although a full reunion has not yet been confirmed, the "High School Musical" showrunner Tim Federle admitted how Bleu’s return had him thinking about bringing back the rest of the original cast — Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, and Lucus Grabiel.

“So that sort of inspired me to think, ‘What if our kids went back to school and had to be extras in a movie?’ Our show is so absurdly meta, it’s just going to turn into Inception one day. We’re really excited,” he recently said.

Federle continued, “I’m going to chalk that up to being a remarkable coincidence, but we’d love to get Zac and Vanessa and all of them back, so we’re actively working on that right now."

Hearing the showrunner discuss a reunion has fans excited because Zac Efron has already confirmed he would be down to make it happen. In a previous interview with E! News, the 34-year-old said, “Of course. I mean to have an opportunity in any form to go back and work with that team would be so amazing. My heart is still there. That would be incredible. I hope it happens.”
