Singer and actress Miley Cyrus has reportedly completely cut ties with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, as he and her mom, Tish Cyrus, battle their divorce in court. According to new reports, Miley and Billy Ray have been on thin lines with each other and finally had a disagreement this summer that dissolved their relationship.
Father and daughter have reportedly not spoken since. Miley's friends are reportedly worried that the stress from her parent's divorce and the cold relationship with her father might make the former child star relapse into her drinking habits and wild behavior.
Earlier this year, Tish filed papers to end her marriage to Billy, making it the couple's third attempt at a divorce. The first time was in 2010 when Billy filed the petition but eventually had the case dismissed. The second time Tish was the one filing, but the case got tossed.

Miley Cyrus Cut Ties With Her Dad
In April, Tish filed divorce papers against Billy, plunging the Cyrus family into a bitter family feud. The situation got so tense, especially between Miley and Billy, leading to the singer cutting all ties with her Dad. A family friend spoke about the cold war between father and daughter to RadarOnline, choosing to remain anonymous.
This friend confirmed that the two celebrities hadn't spoken since their fight. They said, "Miley has simply had enough of her Dad. Things were already tense between Miley and Billy Ray, but they had a blowup this summer. There hasn't been a word between them since."
The source also gave more insight into what caused the tension between father and daughter. They said, "Miley told him she always felt like he was trying to cash in on her fame, dating back to when she played Hannah Montana on TV. She believes Tish is the one who looks out for her. "It's a huge rift that may never heal!"
Miley Cyrus' Friends Are Worried For Her
One of Miley's alleged friends also spoke to RadarOnline and revealed that the "Wrecking ball" singer's close pals are all concerned that the stress from her parent's divorce might push her off the wagon again. Miley notoriously went wild in her 20s, partying hard and indulging in alcohol and drugs excessively.
The "Malibu" singer revealed that she'd quit drugs and alcohol in 2019 but later took up drinking again when the COVID-19 pandemic started. One of her friends said, "Miley is sober again, and addressing her issues in therapy. But something as tragic and dramatic as seeing her parents split up and the family in tatters could trigger another spiral."
Tish Cyrus Filed For Divorce
In Tish's divorce petition, she cited the reason for the split as "irreconcilable differences" and said that she and Billy had been separated for almost three years. The couple had five kids during their 29-year marriage, Trace, Braison, Brandi, Miley, and Noah.
The couple's joint statement, which they issued to People, reads, "It is after 30 years, five amazing children and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways — not with sadness, but with love in our hearts. We have grown up together, raised a family we can be so proud of, and it is now time to create our own paths."
This Divorce Is Their Third Attempt
Tish's divorce petition is the couple's third attempt at getting a divorce. In 2010, Billy filed for divorce but later revoked the petition. In a subsequent interview with "The View,"(via People) the singer said, "I've dropped the divorce. I want to put my family back together. Things are the best they've ever been."
In 2013, Tish filed their second divorce petition. However, the case was eventually tossed out of court. She and Billy later released a statement together informing their fans that they'd gone to marriage counseling and were giving their marriage another chance.
The statement read, "We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together. We both went into couples therapy, something we haven't done in 22 years of being together, and it's brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways."
