'Love Is Blind' Star Deepti Vempati Celebrates The Release Of Her Memoir, 'I Choose Myself'

"Love Is Blind" star Deepti Vempati has had plenty of material written about her in the press since rising to fame as a cast member on the second season of the Netflix reality show.
Vempati, 31, met and fell in love with fellow contestant Abishek 'Shake' Chatterjee through "Love Is Blind's" signature 'pod' rooms. She believed she had found her happily ever after love story with Chatterjee, but would soon discover their relationship and path toward the altar would be much more blurry than blind.
As she would soon discover, Chatterjee couldn't move past the fact that he wasn't as physically attracted to Vempati as she had been to him. Unfortunately, his way of communicating it had been in a way "Love Is Blind" viewers would likely unanimously agree had been awfully crass and humiliating for Vempati; he chose to repeatedly compare being intimate with Vempati to being with a family member!
After learning about her fiance's various transgressions and the foul way he had treated her, Vempati triumphantly left him at the altar at the experiment's conclusion.
"I knew what I had to do," Vempati told Us Weekly back in February, "No one should have doubts about me [on our wedding day] and I deserve the best. So it's like, if you're not going to be able to offer it for me, then there's no chance of me staying."
Now, nearly a year after the series' second season dropped on Netflix, and a reunion episode that showcased and confirmed Vempati's Ross-and-Rachel style relationship with fellow "Love Is Blind" star Kyle Abrams, Vempati is more than ready to move forward and tell her story!
Vempati Pens A Memoir And Tells Her Story For The First Time!
On September 13th, Vempati announced on her Instagram she had written a book, wherein fans could get to know Vempati's authentic self away from cameras and the trickery of reality TV editing.
The Blast shared the deets 'Deeps' had included in her post announcing "I Choose Myself," and now, almost a week later, Vempati is back on the 'gram with another celebratory announcement; "I Choose Myself" is now available!
In Vempati's announcement for "I Choose Myself" she revealed some additional details about the events that lead her to decide to write a memoir.
She wrote, "Writing this book challenged me to understand myself. There were moments when specific experiences brought out emotions I had suppressed for many years. I never thought I would resurface them with anyone, let alone in this way."
Vempati also touches on vulnerability, a feeling "Love Is Blind" viewers and her followers know she has a lot of experience displaying in difficult moments.
"I see now that vulnerability is a super power," she continues in the post, "There's so much strength in it that it breaks down walls creating a domino effect into the lives of others. This is where authenticity meets inspiration- at its roots," the post concludes.
Now, What About Those Matters Of The Heart?
As fans will see in the three new reunion episodes, Vempati and Abrams had to choose to put vulnerability on display with one another for the world to later witness!
Last week The Blast dished on the duo's newfound decision to make their relationship official; Vempati and Abrams were not only ready to take the plunge into coupledom, but they were also ready to publicly discuss their relationship for the first time!
According to our report, Abrams recently got candid in an interview with Today about their relationship.
"People don't understand that we've been talking non-stop for two years," Abrams shared. "The problem with dating your best friend is that when you break up, you lose your best friend." He also added, "It was tough to take that leap."
Abrams also praised their compatibility as a couple.
"She's one of the funniest people I know," he went on, "Just talking to her is so much fun. She has so much insight. That's ultimately what I think life and dating is about, how you get along, and I get along with her so well. She's someone I want to be with all of the time."
Vempati Had To Be With Herself Before She Could Be With Anyone Else
Earlier today Vempati shared an Instagram post featuring the cover art for her brand-new memoir "I Choose Myself!"
In the photo's caption, she wrote, "The day has finally come- when I pour my heart and soul out there for you to read"
She went on to write, "I hope that by sharing my story, it resonates with at least one person out there to learn from my journey. I also hope it inspires you to see that change is possible. Growth is possible. Choosing yourself is possible."
"I Choose Myself" is now available on Amazon!
