After pulling off a two-time rehab break, actor and former skateboarder Bam Margera decided to take his journey to recovery more seriously than ever. He agreed to return to rehab to complete his treatment. Margera has previously opened up about his addiction to drugs and alcohol.
While the former “Jackass” actor now takes his health seriously, things won’t be as easy for him. The rehab rules are now stricter to stop him from escaping a third time. Per new reports, the rules were reviewed by a judge and changed to suit him. Margera is no longer in an in-house facility, as the Judge believed that this was one of the reasons he had escaped the last two times.

Bam Margera Has Escaped Rehab Several Times
On two occasions, the “Jackass” star was spotted by the police and asked to return to the court-assigned rehab to continue recovering. After escaping the second time, the court decided to try an outpatient method to help him complete his treatment.
The star made several headlines related to his drug and alcohol abuse during the first half of 2022. Some of them were about his role in the comedy/action film “Jackass Forever,” released on February 4th.
The actor who previously starred in other “Jackass” films was scheduled to reprise his role in the new movie. However, he was allegedly kicked out of the main cast after failing some sobriety tests.
The Judge then enforced stricter rules on Margera. He is now required to continue seeing the court-assigned psychiatrist, showing up for classes, and staying sober. While the second rehab break caught the attention of many, the first one was very hard on his family and loved ones.
He Was Found In A Florida Hotel Room
The father to five-year-old son Phoenix first broke out of rehab on June 13th, 2022. He was reported missing after fleeing from the Delray Beach building without permission. Per TMZ, he told the facility’s manager that he wanted to leave and check into another rehab center. Soon after, he was nowhere to be found as the police could not locate him.
Two days later, they found Margera safe in a hotel room in Florida. At the time, the “Landspeed” actor was reportedly sober and cooperative. He also agreed to follow the police to a new facility which he also escaped from.
Bam Margera’s Family Convinced Him To Return
After escaping the second time, the police later spotted Margera unconscious at a Florida bar. A viral video taken of the star showed him almost passed out and regaining consciousness towards the end.
Per TMZ, Margera’s parents and other family members joined the team to ask the “CKY2K” star to cooperate with the police. Margera reportedly planned to leave the state to escape rehab. However, his family convinced him to finish his treatment before leaving.
While they helped him return to rehab, a source close to TMZ confirmed that he has been “shut out” by his wife, Nicole Boyd, and their son. He also insisted on seeing them, but the police refused and told him to finish his treatment. The star then “voluntarily agreed” to check into another facility.
What Is Bam Margera Up To
Margera officially started his court-ordered program this week, according to TMZ. While he has completed a year of substance-abuse therapy and treatment, he still has a long way to go on his journey to recovery.
During a May episode of the “Steve O podcast,” the star addressed being fired from the “Jackass Forever” production. Firstly, he revealed that he was excited about completing one year of substance-abuse treatment and had “never felt better.”
He then explained that he didn’t care that the “Jackass” team kicked him out because everything was “meant for a reason.” He also revealed that he was “better off without it” anyway and didn’t want to be a part of the film. “I didn’t want to do it in the first place.”
