Jenelle Evans has returned to "Teen Mom" three years after she exited the franchise.
The TV personality, who was fired from the show in 2019, has since disclosed that she had "cut all ties" with MTV and some of her former co-stars. So when she returned for a cameo for the "Teen Mom" spinoff, "Teen Mom: The Next Chapter," on Tuesday, September 13, fans were surprised and expected some drama.
Jenelle Evans Returns To 'Teen Mom' Franchise For Cameo Appearance
Evans joined co-stars Briana DeJesus and Jade Cline for a party celebrating the former's victory in court against Kailyn Lowry — someone who Evans had previously had some beef with. There had been some tension surrounding Evans' appearance at the party, primarily because Cline replaced her on the reality show after she (Evans) got fired. Evans' firing came after her husband, David Eason, allegedly shot the family's dog, Nugget.
ET reported that Eason had previously been fired from the franchise in 2018 after tweeting transphobic and homophobic statements. While prepping for the party, Cline asked her friend:
"I don't know about Jenelle coming, like, am I going to be super nice to this girl just for her to go online the next day and talk sh*t about me?"
The newbie added that the tension over replacing Evans on the franchise was an "awkward thing," revealing her worries about getting sucked into the former MTV star's drama. She seemed to have nothing to worry about because she helped Evans straighten her hair when she arrived.
The 25-year-old even got the privilege of listening to Evans rant about her husband, citing his unemployment as a root cause of their marital problems. The mother-of-three then addressed the elephant in the room, saying:
"A lot of people have asked me, 'What do you think about Jade? What do you think about Jade?' And I'm like, 'I don't have nothing against Jade.' I'm like, 'If Jade doesn't say sh*t about me, then I don't have sh*t to say about her.'"
Evans' new take appears to be the direct opposite of the views she had in August. The Blast previously reported that the MTV alum promised to cut all ties with the franchise because they had refused to give her an exclusive deal.
Her manager, August Keen, noted that her client "has a new dynamic series in development, (but is) keeping the concept under wraps for now." Despite that, Evans' former co-star, Leah Messer, previously clamored for her to return to the show.

The Blast shared in 2021 that Evans underwent a cancer scare following removing a dark spot from her leg. The sample was to be tested for skin cancer, per the snaps she uploaded on her Instagram Story. The once-divorced star dropped some before and after pictures of the removal of the growth. The reality star, who divulged that she had had several skin issues, wanted some support from her followers.
In one of the photos, Evans donned a bikini and showed off a giant catfish that her family caught during a vacation. The mother-of-three highlighted the growth area, which appeared like a tiny freckle, by circling it. Captioning one of the images, Evans wrote, "I Don't have any other pics, but this was the "freckle" removed due to asymmetry, and half of it turned dark brown." The "asymmetry" referred to the growth changing in shape and size.
Another image captured after the removal procedure was captioned, "Daily reminder…go get your moles checked yearly." While waiting for the biopsy results, Evans added another photo of her chest filled out with what appeared to be a rash. Like her previous health scare, Evans updated her fans on the situation, writing, "and for those asking why I got a check-up. I'm wondering what this is…only happens when I go in the sun and itchy."
She added that doctors told her to wait till she broke out to get an immediate biopsy. Luckily, the internet came to Evans' aid as several fans noted that the rash resembled a "polymorphous light eruption."
