Actress Selma Blair and her ex-boyfriend Ronald Carlson had filed competing restraining orders against each other back in March.
Both gave very different accounts of their stories and both parties submitted graphic injuries to the courts to support their claims. However, in new legal documents obtained by The Blast, it looks like both restraining orders have been dismissed.
Selma Blair and Ronald Carlson's Competing Restraining Orders Have Been Dismissed
On September 13, a Los Angeles court noted that the “Order Granting Dismissal of Request for Restraining Order pursuant to stipulation” was filed on September 13, two days ahead of schedule. Neither party was present at the hearing as the court granted their ruling, throwing out both restraining orders. No reason for the dismissal was stated in the court documents.
In the court documents previously obtained by The Blast, Carlson claimed that he was granted a temporary order of protection against Blair from February 25 through March 22 of this year. He alleges that she caused him emotional or physical harm on February 22 and asked a court to prevent her from contacting both him and his daughter.
However, Blair, who was already granted a restraining order for herself and her son, had a much different version of events as to who started the fight and the injuries that she sustained.
Ronald Carlson Levied Some Pretty Series Allegations Against The ‘Cruel Intentions’ Actress
In the court documents filed earlier this year, Carlson alleges that Blair “attacked me at her home, causing injuries to my face and body. Unfortunately, even though Selma was the aggressor and the one who initiated the attack, and I was the victim, she called the police after I left her home and falsely claimed that I had attacked her.”
“We were still seated on the couch when she began to attack me with both arms, scratching and flailing toward my face,” he wrote in the legal papers. “She hit and scratched my nose, eyes, and cheeks numerous times.” He alleges that he took two photographs of his face which show scratches under his eye and his nose.
He also claims that his left eye was “black and bruised and swollen.” He submitted several graphic images of his injuries to the court as part of his evidence of the alleged attack. However, Blair also shared several graphic images of her injuries as well.
Selma Blair Had A MUCH Different Account Of What Happened
The 50-year-old “Legally Blonde” actress gave a much different version of events and claimed that Carlson had strangled her while seeking protection for herself and her ten-year-old son.
“My son lives with me and this attack occurred in my home,” she wrote in the documents. “Respondent is the father of a child who goes to the same school as my son. I am scared for the safety of both my son and myself following this attack.”
Blair alleges that Carlson went to her home to drop off a TV set on February 22. At the time, Blair claims that she was heavily medicated due to her Multiple Sclerosis treatment. She alleges that the two got into an argument, with Carlson hurling curses at her. “You f—ed up, you can’t do anything, you can’t love anybody, you’re f—ing useless, you cripple,” is one example of the graphic language he used, as written in the court documents.
While she was lying on the sofa, Blair claims that Carlson lunged at her “and strangled her, throttling her and shaking her head and shoulders aggressively.” Blair claims that she lost consciousness during the attack, suffered a nosebleed, and then lost consciousness again when police arrived at the scene.
Photographs in the LAPD Investigative Report report “One photo from her full face, three photos from the red marks around her neck and under her chin, and three photos from the red marks on her left and right hand.”
Carlson had argued that "The Sweetest Thing" actress had often suffered nosebleeds and submitted into evidence a text message exchange between the two that showed Blair standing over a bathroom sink with a bloody nose.
"Oh terrible. I am going to show soon," she allegedly wrote. "Kelly just called. I am up soon. I still have it. And bloody nose all night." Carlson reportedly responded, "Oh no. That looks fake. I know it's not... it's just so much."
No reason was given why the competing restraining orders were thrown out, but it looks like Selma Blair is moving on with her life, if competing on "Dancing With The Stars" is any indication! In an Instagram post, she shared a snap of her outfit and encouraged her followers to watch her perform on September 19.
