NFL superstar Tom Brady recently described his family and football career as the most important things to him. The 45-year-old retired from football in February, at the start of the 2022/2023 season; however, he was back on the field two months after the official announcement.
The athlete and his wife, Gisele Bündchen, have reportedly not had the best time since he came back from retirement. The supermodel was noticeably absent from Brady’s first game and is currently staying apart from him.
On Sunday, Brady played his first game since announcing his retirement earlier this year. Post-game, the NFL star revealed that he felt at peace with his family and while on the field. He also described his family and NFL football career as the two most important things in his life.

Tom Brady Said His Family And Football Were Important To Him
Brady was on a recent episode of “Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray” podcast on SiriusXM and shed light on his family life and his time on the pitch. During the interview, Gray talked about the athlete’s profession, joking that the only time Brady felt peaceful was on the field while being chased by “some 320-pound guys.”
The 45-year-old responded, “I hope that’s not the only place I find it because that’s a brutal way to go after a long period of time, to have that. But there is a simplicity to life when you’re in football season because there’s a rhythm to it.”
Brady also talked about his family, which consists of a 12-year-old son, Benjamin Rein, and eight-year-old Vivian Lake with his wife, Bündchen. The NFL superstar also has a 15-year-old son John “Jack” Edward, from his previous relationship with Bridget Moynahan.
According to Brady, his family brought him peace and was one of the most important things to him. He said, “Football and family has always been the most important thing to me, so it’s a good time of year.”
Gisele Bündchen Did Not Attend Tom Brady’s First Game
According to reports, Brady’s decision to play after his retirement announcement put a strain on his relationship with his supermodel wife, Bündchen. The 42-year-old was noticeably absent from the stands in her husband’s first game since returning. Before the game, a source told People Magazine that the model would likely not be a part of the audience because no prior plans were put in place.
The insider observed, “It’s always a big thing when Gisele is coming to watch the game,” however, at the moment, “there’s none of that for Sunday’s game.” The source also claimed that there was a noticeable difference this year because when Bündchen was present last year, the 42-year-old seemed really excited.
“I’m not saying she can’t possibly come, but nothing is in place for her to be here for the first regular season game, and that seems weird,” they said.
Although the supermodel was not present in Tampa Bay’s first game, she did send her well wishes to the team via a post on Twitter. On Sunday Bündchen wrote, “Let’s go @TomBrady ! Let’s go, Bucs !”
Gisele Bündchen Was Not Happy About Her Husband’s Return
According to People Magazine, Bünchen was not happy when Brady made his decision to leave retirement. Sources claimed that the duo spent some time apart after the unretirement put a strain on their relationship.
“Going back to Tampa after the retirement put a strain on the personal side of his life,” they said. “Gisele is frustrated and sick of his career coming before their family, who has always supported him.” According to the source, the couple’s decision to spend time away from each other has happened before, and they were currently trying to make their relationship work.
The couple reportedly had a “happy summer together”; however, as Brady’s 23rd season in the NFL approached, things started getting bad for them. A separate insider said, “There is a point Gisele believes that enough is enough.” They added that while she was fairly busy, she was an amazing wife and always supported Brady and his career. The couple is reportedly being very private about what was going on between them.
Tom Brady Took Some Time Off Practicing
An insider revealed that tensions were so high between the couple that everyone tried not to mention Bündchen around Brady. They said, “Everyone here knows that there’s tension, but we don’t know how serious it is. So we’re just not talking to him about Gisele. It’s not a topic anyone wants to bring up to him.”
The 45-year-old only strengthened speculations of his at-home troubles when he took some time off practicing with the Buccaneers to handle personal issues. Brady rejoined practice 11 days after and revealed that his reason for the time off was to deal with a situation.
“Everyone has different situations they’re dealing with, and we all have unique challenges to our lives. I’m 45 years old, man,” the NFL star said. “There’s a lot of s— going on, so you just have to try and figure out life the best you can. You know, it’s a continuous process.”
